It seems the SPFL have put press releases out stating a Rangers and a Celtic colt side may be placed into the league system starting next season.
I know nobody in favour of this. If it happens, I'm finished with Scottish football.
It seems United will have a say in whether this happens, along with the other clubs. Do you think they will tell us what way they vote?

Are they extending League 2 to facilitate this Pat.

An utter disgrace if this happens.
What about the teams in the Lowland League who have built stadiums and spent years and a lot of money in the hope of entering the pro leagues one day?

No danger this should be happening!! The fact that this is being thought about is a fekking joke! Utd should be 100% voting against this and I hope they will confirm this.
Where would the"colt" teams go?? Also Rangers and Celtic shouldn't be getting a vote in this.

The offer of 250 £10 tickets being paid to clubs per game against the evil mini two in League Two is (almost?) a crime.
In answer to some points above, these colts are being parachuted into the fourth tier (Division Two), but can't be promoted or relegated. Which means the third placed team could be 'Champions', and third bottom relegated.
League Two would have twelve clubs, perhaps 33 or 38 fixtures. Presently they have 36, in any situation they would then have less games against clubs who they are actually competing with.
It's being dressed up as part of Project Brave. The huns are presently so committed to developing young Scottish players that they (against SPFL rules) have absented themselves from the U20 league system this season.
I could rattle on about this, suffice to say the truth behind this is to maintain a presence of the evil two in Scotland in the event that their main sides move to another league system.

A disgrace.

If it goes ahead its shocking. Imo we should be making the professional game up here smaller, not larger. If not making it smaller then have to look at making Leagues 1 and 2 regionalised.

This is so wrong on so many levels it beggars belief!
I feel all the clubs, supporters groups and every fan against this move, should start voicing their displeasure now, rather than wait till Doomcaster makes it a fait accompli.

Stirling Albion are against the proposals, and Stenhousemuir have issued the following:
Club Statement on media speculation regarding Colt Teams
The Club is aware of the current media speculation regarding the introduction of SPFL Premiership Colt Teams into the professional league set-up.
At present, there is no formal proposal from the SPFL for clubs to consider.
What has happened, is that a proposal for a pilot project has been put forward by Rangers and Celtic football clubs. This is being discussed at league level by the SPFL Competitions Working Group. If it is thought there is merit in looking at the proposals in further detail, it would be put to consideration and vote by all 42 clubs within the SPFL.
Representatives of Rangers and Celtic are currently meeting with clubs in League 2 to present details of their pilot proposals. A number of Directors at Stenhousemuir met with a representative from Rangers and received the presentation.
No formal discussions have taken place within the club on the proposals as yet.
In order to take this forward, the club will be working with the SFC Supporters Trust to ensure that the views of fans can be put forward and taken into account prior to the Board formulating the club's view.
There will no doubt be arguments both for and against any proposals to enter colt teams in the SPFL setup. It is important to hear both sides of the argument, and make an informed decision that is the right thing for Stenhousemuir Football Club, the League, and the future development of Scottish football.

So................it's actually the Glasgow Twins who are proposing this, not the SPFL. I'm taken aback. How can two clubs make an effort such as this to change the league structure, to their own benefit. Why are both not up on an SFA disrepute charge? Acht, I know the answer to that.
