was a pile of weegie shite to start with
Online!
It was a great show in it's first 5 years imo.
Back when Tony Roper was in it with Jonathan Watson and Phil Differ wrote the script.
The Jim White/Gerry McNee sketches were Gold and it's satire of the Old Firm and inparticular the sectarianism was actually refreshing. They were the only people on tv to really tackle that issue/ take the piss out of it.
But not just that EVERY club got their wee place on the show and you looked forward to seeing how they would send up your club (I mind the sketch about Golac and Luggy being quite on point for example).
Unfortunately it's 10+ years past it's best and really should have been de-commissioned a long, long time ago.
Jonathon Watson is a decent enough comic actor but since the show was all about him it's become seriously played out.
Thing is Scotland has a wealth of comedic talent who could make Hogmanay shows (Kevin Bridges, Frankie Boyle, Limmy, Iain Connell, Robert Florence, Greg McHugh etc).

Agree, OAE is well past its sell by date. Watson should stick to doing 'Two Doors Down' which is a genuinely funny show.

It's the characters that should of been put to bed years ago. Frank mcavennie for instance hasnt kicked a baw since 93 or something yet still gets used every time. Why? Was his sketch ever funny anyway?
Shows a shiter and has been since the 90s.
Tam Cowans offside was better in my opinion and that got axed after a few years!
Jesus Christ - it's still on and it's even less funny than ever 😨
