dundee utd v dunfermline

Saturday at tannadice we host Dunfermline who are not too far behind us.
A similar performance to that in the recent st Mirren and Falkirk games is much needed and 3 points in the bag.

with fucking up away games we really need to make home games must wins

If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all.

Re: dundee utd v dunfermline

Lois thinks Dunfermline are the team expected to challenge United the most this season (???)

Shaba takes ages to get to the point: I hope he is more succinct with his players. But he appears a likeable chap…. “Scooby he knows that, okay, he made a mistake.”

Thankfully, he notes at the end that we are lacking in the striking department.

Re: dundee utd v dunfermline

Found it quite interesting that he said he wished we had another couple of strikers to call on.

Bear in mind Keatings was nowhere to be seen last Saturday.

Re: dundee utd v dunfermline

Maybe i was reading too much into Keating's omission last weekend.I notice he posted on social media that he suffered a family bereavement.

Paddy's omission in place of young Chalmers is perhaps more telling.

You're quite correct.

I was getting mixed up with the Falkirk game the week before.

Re: dundee utd v dunfermline

Keatings played alright when he came on at Brechin. Put 2 or 3 cracking  balls in.

Too much commotion

Re: dundee utd v dunfermline

Thought 2:0 at half time very slightly flattered us, but the second half was all about the referee.

Didn't feel that we were due anything but a win.

Disagree pat. Very worthy of a 2-0 half time score imo

Re: dundee utd v dunfermline

Affy happy the night!

Felt pretty comfortable through oot, they hud we spells but never hud clear chances.

Step up young Scott Fraser, the best player on pitch and best in the league, shown it over past 3/4 weeks, 2 brilliant goals, could be wrang but sure the 2nd was right fut?

Disappointed wi the goal we lost, laddie should oh been fouled much earlier and set up fir a free kick.

Re: dundee utd v dunfermline

Paul Quinn was absolutely brilliant I thought, fraser showing he is our best player, a lot of encouragement as well down left we look really decent, Mcdonald needs help up top, flood and fyvie complement themselve well, happy weee that shed rule tap o the league eoi

Re: dundee utd v dunfermline

Thought we coped a bit better with players charging us down fast and agressively. 5 bookings could have been 9 or 10 and a straight red for elbow on Fyvie that was a yelly.
Passed a bit faster in tight spaces. Really need the big lad up front we dinnae huv to maximise the wee attacking threat we have.

Quinn did fine coming in. Team looked a wee bit braver.

Hope Flood recovers quick, he looked like he was in a lot of pain.

Hospo looked good fae the outside.

Re: dundee utd v dunfermline

As close as we've been to the Falkirk performance. Very nervy last 10 mins. Dunfermline never gonna win in open play so started playing dirty. Very obvious 2nd half, and put simply they got away with a lot of it.

Morris made at least 15 fouls. Shoulda been off for his forearm on Fyvie, think he did similar to Keatings. and the chunt that grabbed McDonald's pus.

Goals. Peach of left-foot free-kick from Fraser. 2nd. Throw-in from Robson to the by-line for Fraser glides past defence. Think it was a right-foot inta goal.Couldve had a hat-trick but for great save by Pars keeper.

Treatment of Fyvie and Robson atrocious. Fyvie got battered the whole game so close 2nd for him.

Penalty. I dinna think so - Robson did put his hand on him tho. BigAndys spot on  - ex-Hun basa shoulda been brought doon lang before he reached the box for a free-kick.

Looked to me about 5 mins extra-time on my watch. WTF is that about.

Bad points - McDonalds miss 1st half. Keatings run forward, then 90 degree pass. Some wasted free-kicks which squandered opportunities. Some needless backpassing to Harry early 1st half.

MOTM Fraser, not just for his 2 excellent goals, but his performance was far above anybody today. Robson and Fyvie no far behind.

Only criticsism of Shabba is that he waited too late to bring McMullan on.

Since my missus is awa for the weekend, Eh'm haein a phuckin ball. Gonna raise several glasses to United and 1 to Dumbarton.

Re: dundee utd v dunfermline

Glad to see Scott Fraser get a couple.

Have to confess I've never quite got the hype with the laddie.

If he is indeed our 'best player' or the 'best player in the Championship' then he has to start proving it consistently.

I hope he does.

He fairly dances around lower league opponents and is getting braver under Csaba but claiming he's the best in the league is easy when you only see United.

He has a long way to go if he is to be as good as he feels he is. Reality is close to what his fans and himself think of him but he has a way to go in proving himself yet and that might help us hold on to him longer than we might along with his injury being a factor.
