Csaba would have learnt a lot today (hopefully)

He would have quickly learnt what the majority of supporters (who don't have their heads stuck in the sand) have known for quite sometime.

That we lack height, strength (mental and physical),that there's a lack of pace throughout the team, that there's a lack of desire to grind out wins when the going gets tough. That there's still a lack of (for want of a better word) 'winners'.

He will also (hopefully) have learnt that we MUST strengthen in January,we simply must. I know he said that he would be happy to 'promote from within' but quite frankly this is a fanciful notion. We have no strength in depth and the fringe players are simply not good enough to step in when required.

If (as we all expect) there is very little money to spend then Csaba has to 'wheel n deal' like never before. He has to rid our wage bill of any player on a first team wage who isn't contributing to the squad.

Punt Quinn (finished).

And attempt to get Toshney,N'Koyi,Allardice and maybe even Keatings (?) out on loan.

That would surely free up some cash for 2 new signings in. Maybe even more if we sell either Robson/Fraser or both.

This notion that we have the 'best squad in the league by a distance' is a bit of a fallacy imo. And one that gets consistently quashed on a regular basis.

I said yesterday that if you want to win this league then you go to places like Brechin and win,it's that simple.

Too many of these type of embarrassing results have became 'the norm' now for our club.

Csaba can't afford to wait to wait till the Summer to improve our lot.He must act in January (and fast too).

Livi and St.Mirren show no signs of slipping up in their form and we simply cannot afford to finish anything other than 1st this season.

Concerned.

Re: Csaba would have learnt a lot today (hopefully)

No doubting the need for a target man or at least another decent striker. No sign of Nkoy on the bench today Czaba must have seen enough of him on training, even Brechins striker Isaac something has more to offer then Nkoy. This has to be sorted  in January or away form could be fatal.

Re: Csaba would have learnt a lot today (hopefully)

we offer absolutely nothing down the right hand side and we only have 1 striker.

1 up front vs Brechin, never in my life must we see this again.

Re: Csaba would have learnt a lot today (hopefully)

Murdoch was absolutely phucking brutal, yet again. The boy wasn't a particularly good midfielder, and he's certainly not any use at right back. Both full back positions need to be addressed in January. Obviously we need a target man, and another wide option would make a massive difference to our title charge.

Punting peripheral players like Quinn and Briels can hopefully allow us a bit of wiggle room in January. If we don't have the funds to get another right back in, surely it'd be worth recalling Ballantyne from his loan at Montrose, he's been getting rave reviews for the past two seasons, there's no way he can be any worse than Murdoch or Toshney.

100% agreed. We won't need to punt Quinn though as he is only under contract until January anyway iirc.

Totally agreed re Quinn until after watching him today. Very right footed though. January will be interesting for sure. We've had loan trialist fae Burnley I think, young forward. Hope this leaked info means there are a few mair in oor sites.  Last 3 games have definately given Csaba a good taste of what the league is about and the issues we have.

What he does with it time will tell. I'm reservedly happy with him so far.

He surely has contacts far and wide. Loanees might be the way forward wi nae dosh and a hero role to be had for promotion eh.
