DUFC v Falkirk - Sunday 20th November (3pm)

We must keep up this improved league form that we have shown in November and win this one.And I think we will.

My team would be......

..........................Lewis.........
Murdoch...Durnan...Scobbie...Robson
..........................Flood................
King........Stanton....Fraser...McMullan
......................McDonald...............

Subs - Mehmet,Keatings,Fyvie,Edjenguele
           Smith,Briels,N'Koyi

Re: DUFC v Falkirk - Sunday 20th November (3pm)

I'd shoehorn in FYVIE Tek, probably for Flood cos I like your front five, sorry Willo.
Briels fit again too, I wonder how his contribution will be assessed come May, goodish I think?
And maybe, just maybe, & controversially cos I know how much of a forum favourite he is, ******* for PC at right back???
******* is a big lad & brings a bit of oomph to the team, that one aspect can't be denied.

Can't agree with that one bit SmedDum i'm afraid.

Toshney's last game is McKinnon's 'last stand at home to Inverness' in a truly horrific display.

Murdoch is brought back in by Ellis and we win 2 on the bounce and we probably miss him last Saturday against Crusaders.

He's no Word beater, granted. But he is a much much better option than Toshney imo.

Might be more inclined to be persuaded with Fyvie for Flood however.

Re: DUFC v Falkirk - Sunday 20th November (3pm)

Is Keatings on any worse form than McMullan? And Fyvie would have to play, in my view.

Toshney doesn't bear thinking about.

To be honest, the only players who are safely in are Lewis, the two central defenders and Robson (Murdoch at a push), Fyvie, Fraser and McDonald.

.......Lewis.........
Murdoch...Durnan...Scobbie...Robson
..........................Fyvie................
?............?..............Fraser.............?
......................McDonald...............

Fraser as he's the best we have with the ball at his feet in an attacking sense. Stanton's goals may get him in, then two from Keatings, Smith, King and McMullan.

Falkirk fans reckon they are dire, which is very unlike them as they usually live on the moon.

Just realised the game's on Sunday.

Why exactly?

Well Fun v Killie at the Dump on Saturday & maybe it's their turn to get the Saturday game when both are at home?
Just that maybe?
Do check out the attendances, I'm thinking 4,500 on Saturday and 6,000 Sunday.

Respectively.
Do check out the points, I'm thinking 0 points on Saturday and 3 points Sunday.

Re: DUFC v Falkirk - Sunday 20th November (3pm)

Guys, I wouldn't get too cocky about the matches on Saturday and Sunday.

Firstly, Dundee v Killie was scheduled for Saturday from the start of the season, while our match is a catch up because of the daft IrnBru cup.

Secondly, Dundee could well have an attendance to surpass ours this weekend.

Finally, don't count our hens before the matches are hatched, or something. Form might indicate we'll win and the dee lose, but results are unpredictable.

Re: DUFC v Falkirk - Sunday 20th November (3pm)

I wouldn't have McMullan anywhere near the side, he should stick to playing 5's with his mates.

........................................................Lewis

Murdoch........................Durnan........................Scobbie................................Robson

.........................................Flood....................Stanton

Smith...............................................Fraser......................................................King

......................................................McDonald

same as the St Mirren game

I would possibly move Stanton to the left of the 3 in place of Smith and replace him in the holding role with Briels, that will not happen as Fyvie will be the first to regain a starting spot.

FWIW my preferred stating side ATM would be

..............................................................Lewis

Murdoch.......................Durnan..........................Scobbie...................Robson

....................................Briels.................................Fyvie

..............King.................................Fraser.............................Stanton

...................................................McDonald

Re: DUFC v Falkirk - Sunday 20th November (3pm)

I would line up with.

Lewis
Murdoch Durnan Scobbie Robosn
Flood
Smith Fraser Stanton McMullan/King
McDonald

As for them across the road, the way Killie are playing and the buzz around rugby park, this could be a cricket score. Bain refusing to pay his fine and being excluded from the team, a few players grumbling and wanting to leave. Always the fun.

Best I've seen in a long, long time (albeit Falkirk have gone backwards under Hartley  😁)

Brilliant win that.

Clean sheet and created a hatful of chances.

The way it fucking should be in this poxy Division.

Early days, but maybe (just maybe) the club is waking up from it's self-imposed coma.

Didn't notice an injury but he had picked up a booking and maybe Csaba thought 3-0 gave him a chance to look at Stanton in that position?

Re: DUFC v Falkirk - Sunday 20th November (3pm)

3 Goals hit the woodwork 3× numerous other great chances.  Absolutely destroyed the opposition  The big difference for me was how hard the team worked on the rare occasions Falkirk had the ball. No poor performers today but Fyvie and Fraser the standouts. On to Brechin.

Re: DUFC v Falkirk - Sunday 20th November (3pm)

Wasn't there, good result, sounds like a good performance.  Only thing I'd ask is how much was down to us and how much down to Hartley uselessness?

I thought Billy King was excellent today.

Too much commotion

Agreed, also, I have been critical of flood in the past but that was a great performance from him today capped with a composed finish.
Don't think anyone was below a 7/10 today and that would just be the keeper as he had fuck all to do!

Re: DUFC v Falkirk - Sunday 20th November (3pm)

Cruised to an easy win today and a few stand out for me where King, Fyvie and Frazer. Fyvie in particular strolled about with attitude and purpose refused to be bullied by Miller or Kerr and brushed them aside whilst running the game from start to finish.

Billy King has came in for a wee bit of stick but the last three games from Dumbarton on he is kicking on with a bit of confidence and unlucky with his early effort.

One other thing which I noticed was that when Falkirk tried to mix it early doors we took it in turn to put the boot in which you need to do in order to get out of this league. Picked up a few yellows but that's part of it.

Lastly it must be said Paul Hartly has certainly stamped his mark at Falkirk, the worst Falkirk team I've ever seen.

Re: DUFC v Falkirk - Sunday 20th November (3pm)

King was excellent, as was Fraser but Fyvie was the best player on the park by a mile for me, totally strolled it.

Falkirk look a shadow of the side they were last season but if we play like that every week we’ll be doing just fine.
