I'm honestly not sure.

It'll never happen but I like the thought of McLeish, a hard bastard of a centre half.

From the realistic options on that list I'd only take Danny Lennon.
I know there's a lot of folk hate the ex-players thing or folk reckon we need a "hard bastard" but that doesn't matter, what we need is a manager who will demand and get respect, someone who has a bit of a tactical brain, someone who can effectively change a game, someone who the players believe in, someone who will get the best out of the squad and in the longer term someone who can make good signings and give themselves a balanced squad to work with.
I thought Robson was gonna get it last time so would my surprise me, but I reckon it'll be Jon Daly.

Alex McLeish would be my number one choice ex players for us just don't seem to work so no to jim McIntyre or Billy dodds

Stubbs for me

What has Stubbs done to be held in such high esteem?
Fair enough he won the cup (easy route to final) but failed miserably in the league (same as the boy we are desperate to get rid of) and he also failed big time at Doncaster or wherever the fuck he went to, add that to the fact he jumped ship as soon as he could at Hibs proves he is a selfish bastard.

Boy from stv saying John Hughes very much in the reckoning

1. Peter Houston.
2. Alan Stubbs

This thread FFS look at the names of our next (potential)manager, this shit would make you greet.
Why don't we just put the guy that used to sit begind me in the GF, he knew the feckin lot, tactics, when to press, diamonds, zonal, back to front, on the deck, this guy wrote the book.
My view is that it won't matter who we install until the man at the top stands down- he's the one causing the problem with us. Until he steps down there will still be unharmony in the stands which filters through to the park.

Think he was Manager at Newport County. Sacked earlier this year. Think they lost aboot 12 gehms on the trot. Just what we need.

That sounds about right for a 3 year deal.

Jackie at 25/1 and Mixu at 16/1?
I’ll have a pint of what that bookie has had.

These cunts shove oot what makes them money. That bookie is probably supping away watching the cash roll in from pished punters with a like for those we fear having for their ain reasons and daft punters that think the pish choices look better as a result of the heebie jeebie names in the mix.

Odds shortened on Hughes today & through the evening until he was 8/11 on. Now can't find any bookies taking bets on next manager. Anyone else?

Cannae find any odds on it now. I'm deflated.
He must be willing to accept Darren Taylor staying on, that will save a pay-off.
Rumour on Arab-Angry, Jim McInally.

Billy Reid - we are talking to him apparently.
Not disputing your source mate but cannae see that one, personally.
He's been in Swedish football a few seasons now and is currently no.2 at the Swedish team Ostersunds who currently top Group J in the Europa League (a group containing Hertha Berlin and Athletico Bilbao).
can't see him sacking that experience abroad with a crack side for moving back to Scotland with a club who are an absolute clusterfuck on and off the field.
FWIW i'd take him btw.

Billy Reid was, to an extent, Hamilton's Craig Levein, building a structure which has seen them move from the third tier to the top, while bringing through young players from their youth system. He earned them a pile of cash in the process, for a team with a very small fan base.
His teams were very defensive from what I recall, but he was sought after by clubs down south such as Swansea and Leicester. However, although Accies never scored a lot in the top league, when Reid was in charge in the second level they were top scorers with the best defensive record in their promotion season.
So..................... I'm unsure if I'd be excited about him arriving, if the story is true. But he'd be above several other candidates who have been mentioned, for me, including Yogi and Jim McIntyre. And if Elvis comes into the frame, I'd be hoping for Billy Reid then, too.
