Post # 12 says our opponents will be targeting Tam 'to diasastrous effect'.
Anyway...he was signed primarily as a left back and possible cover for central defence.
Deacon is a bit of a player & is giving PL left backs a job.
Scobbie will come back into the side & will improve the back four, don't write him off on the evidence of a game and a half.
Forgive me then for dragging this up (quiet at work).

Don't get why you're bringing that up?
Boy's post said he was poor st left back but he sees him more as a central defender. I think that he's just proved he's a better choice at ch instead of lb where he was shown up by deacon.
Deacon has also been poor for the team at the bottom of the spl so again, his post seems fair. 🤔

There's nothing to forgive, I said that Scobbie is far too slow for and would offer nothing going forward at left back, I still 100% maintain that. If you want to drag up old posts, you can look at what I said about Scobbie when we signed him, I was happy that we'd signed an experienced leader at the back, believing that he'd be played primarily at centre half. If he is, and can stay injury free, I think he'll contribute massively this season.

Scobbie is a leader, its like having two captains on the park.
Defo a better centre back and it is obvious both durnan and robson are benefiting.
Yeah but why were you all banging on about his injury record?
Even leaving his cup appearances out of his record to make it look worse.
I said his appearance record wasn't as bad as some were making out (& neither it is) and that he would be back & he'll be good.
He plays well on Saturday & out come the hypocrites.

I think you are at it smedDUm: let's ignore his past injury record, whether you believe it is an imaginary feature of all our minds, and concentrate on this season.
He's already missed 75% of our league matches. I'm trying to base my observation on facts. When he signed, I stated I was happy with paying his wages, as he's an asset in this league, if he steers clear of injury.
Like I've said on another thread, we all want our players to do well.

Yeah the fans were bursting for Col Donaldson to do well.
Hounded out of Tannadice.
What gets me is there a large majority of our support who get more out of vilifying players than backing them.
Sean Dillon was another classic example.
Sad.

I don't know a single fan who has ever wanted anybody we've signed to fail.
There are plenty of us who have pointed out certain players are shite after seeing them play. That doesn't mean we want hem to fail, it means we think they're shite, totally different thing.
There's nothing wrong with the truth, try it sometime.

What fucking nonsense
I can't think of a single instance where I've wanted a player to fail. Everyone wanted Coll Donaldson to do well, only it was clear after a handful of appearances that he simply wasn't ever going to do well.
Some players and managers simply aren't up to it, Smeddum. Not everyone lives in this magical world of sunshine, lollipops and rainbows where every player and manager deserves an infinite number of chances to prove themselves. Sometimes you have to cut bait, you're the only one who seems to have a hard time accepting that.

Really impressed with Scobbie and that's something I never thought I would ever have said, that much I was raging at him yesterday when I was waiting on the ref giving a red card.
Is it just me that sees him vital over the next few months in order to create a wee gap and get out of this two year of hell.

That's what we have been needing for almost 2/3 years now, someone at the back who organises, encourages and shouts at those around them to concentrate, follow runners etc. A real leader at the back.

I don't think its an exaggeration to say he is our most important player.
After Sunday I'd say Fraser Fyvie is our most important player. If that's the real player we're now seeing he could win this league on his own. Btw Skippy's goal was awfy clever, lovely little dink.
