Livingston v dundee utd

Saturdays takes us to livingston for the first time in a good few seasons on league duty.
They have started off quite well  for coming up but its a game iam confident in us winning.
For me id go with (injury suspension dependant)
Lewis
Flood
Durnan
Edge
Robson
Mcmullan
Fyvie
Stanton
King
Mcdonald
Keatings

Re: Livingston v dundee utd

Bit harsh on Briels being dropped, been one of our best players this season.

Re: Livingston v dundee utd

unless he is injured Briels will play. He gives the midfield more energy than Stanton which is usually required particulary away from home. Murdoch will also play in front of Flood. Flood had a good game at EEP but he was under little or no pressure. Murdoch although far from perfect is a better fullback than flood.

Re: Livingston v dundee utd

Dina ken why you’d think oh dropping Briels fir Stanton, Briels has been effective fir us. Stanton has been poor fir a while now, including Saturday against Linfield, shouldn’t be a starter.

Same team as Dunfermline fir me.

Re: Livingston v dundee utd

Definitely Briels, Stanton was gash on Saturday that would be the only change for me.

Re: Livingston v dundee utd

Would be surprised if it wasn't same again.

The one change I would make would be to bring in Allardice to sit in front of CB instead of one of the wide men probably King and go 4:3:3. I'd bring King on to replace McMullan so we have fresh legs in both halves for the wide position

I hope Briels is working on his passing in training - it would be nice to have a dutch midfielder capable of finding one of his own players some of the time.

Re: Livingston v dundee utd

Has to be the same team as Dunfermline.

From Saturday past v Linfield the players who deserve their place on the bench are Mehmet, Allardice, Taylor and Murdoch.

I know its tempting to keep a winning team but Murdoch will play ahead of Flood. He is much stronger in the air than Flood which is still an area we are poor in.  Some folk forgetting just how bad flood was against Dumbarton the sort of performance where retiring was the next option

Flood played in midfield against Dumbarton tho. And he was pish in that game as well as every other game hes played in midfield this season.  At rb against Dunfermline he was decent. Murdoch's had a few poor games at rb already this season.
Im not saying flood is the answer btw. Just think he merits another shot there.

Re: Livingston v dundee utd

Flood at right back sounds good to me. I say keep the same team.

Re: Livingston v dundee utd

its all about opinions but Flood was under no pressure at Dunfermilne as they like most teams this season targeted Robson as Flood came in at the last minute. As i said Murdoch is not really the answer im not even sure he is a better bet than Toshney. Maybe Lazarus Toshney will play on Saturday maybe Scobbie, all 3 better fullbacks than Flood

Re: Livingston v dundee utd

Flood is very good at closing opponents down - exactly what we need from a FB especially when up against an in-form team away from home. Willo's played RB for Man City and Cardiff so have my doubts about his 4th place in Beharder's pecking order - for a start anyone's better than Tosh there, Scobbie struggled when he played LB against the wee team and Murdoch's not covered himself with glory this season.

Re: Livingston v dundee utd

Have to agree with most here on Flood. Hope I've no jinxed it then but his occasional down side of straying fast when playing midfield might be limited in this position that he's proved himself in more than some remember or are aware of the number times he's done a job well in it.

Seems like a good position for him as he gets older to maximise his effectiveness over risking his influence in a more crucial position.

Re: Livingston v dundee utd

Possibility we will sign Francois Kompany, possible replacement for the Edge? As for right back, Flood seems to have played better there than Murdoch and Toshney. Keep Flood there and keep the CM places open for Briels, Fyvie, Stanton, Fraser and Allardice.
