The opening match of the tournament witnessed a close encounter eventually won by the track "Something Changed" by Sheffield's PULP.They will now progress through to the 2nd Round (seeded) as a consequence of said victory.Joining them also in the 2nd Round (albeit unseeded) will be "No Good (Start The Dance)" by The Prodigy which finished runner-up (but only by virtue of winning a coin toss).Eliminated from the tournament at the very earliest entrance are "What Time Is Love?" By KLF and the unlucky "Black Hole Sun" by the late Chris Cornell's former rock group Soundgarden.
