Miles better today, forward boys were starting to look like a team rather than individuals. Minding this Morton team has been playing well over the past few weeks we made them look poor for long spells. Are we the finished team, no, was that better, yes. Beers are cold and 3pts in the bag.

Have the team and management got the message, have we finally clicked, far too early to say but for tonight well done Ray and the players.

Please bring the same desire and positive play next week

Agree with this. Well done United. Actually enjoyed the game yesterday.

Good to get a win and against one of the better sides in the Championship.

A real shot in the arm for the whole club actually (supporters, players and most of all probably McKinnon).

It means little though if we go back to playing like shit next weekend in the big match v Dunfermline.

We must start hitting top form and taking this league by the scruff of the neck.

2nd place (or worse) just isn't an option this season.

Good post, agree 100%. Really got to kick on now.

If I didnae know better I'd guess the Ray haters are beelin that we won.

That'd be sad as fuck though so I'll just assume the interweb is broken in the UK

Reply from Ray hater

No quite beelin but as I've no confidence is Ray getting us up (based on 60+ performances to date), the sooner we move on and get someone in who can do the job, the better for United in the long term (IMO). Given that ST has appointed 3 duffers now he too might hopefully learn from his mistakes when making the next appointment. The team's 4 out of 6 points clearly has bought Ray some time, I'm happy that we won but cautious that this might be a flash in the pan and all we have done is to prolong our agony. As usual, I would love to be proved wrong.

Bring back the (real) "United Way" not the kiddy-on Martin version

Im hoping that Ray will keep the 442 and attack as I think attacking wise, we have better attacking options than anyone in this division.

Re: Dufc v Morton - Saturday 23rd September

I thought it was a much improved performance from the previous week at Falkirk (that's not saying much I know).

Their keeper had 2 or 3 great saves in the first half, score a couple of them and we'd have hopefully been much more comfortable.

Still think we were too ponderous at times but good to see two forwards up there.

Re: Dufc v Morton - Saturday 23rd September

I'm positive that if you put Sam Stanton (or even Scott Fraser) in midfield beside one out of Briels or Fyvie (probably Fyvie) then we would not be as ponderous.  Certainly at home we don't need two holding midfielders.

Too much commotion

Agree with that! Had a good spell in the first half where, had we taken the chances would have been a far more comfortable afternoon! Hopefully with confidence building we will be able to score whilst on top in games and build a lead. The defence at set pieces still gives me the absolute fear though.
