Does McKinnon have 90 minutes to save his job?

The pressure of playing at home and an expectant support.

Think anything less than a good win and performance and the support might turn on him.

Is Saturday his last chance to save his job?

Probably not in the eyes of the bald one, but the fans will really turn on him big style if the performance and result isn't up to scratch.

Thompson won't hang around from what I've heard

Re: Does McKinnon have 90 minutes to save his job?

Yes, going into a wee break from league action will be the trigger point.

It must be said though that with his track record in appointing managers I'm not looking forward to the pointless approaches for folk who would never work under Thompson.

For what it's worth I feel sorry a bit for McKinnon due to the black cloud that still surrounds the club and will not lift until the incompetent clown moves on. The feel good factor just isn't there and many including myself just can't get motivated whilst Thompson is still there.

Re: Does McKinnon have 90 minutes to save his job?

Eh dina think it'll depend on this weekend, however if we dina win 1 of oor next 2 then surely he'll be gone. If we loose ti Morton or even draw he'll no be sacked IMO.

Re: Does McKinnon have 90 minutes to save his job?

My initial reaction/vote was nah - mostly cos I doubt ST can afford to sack him.

Then I thought can ST afford another season in the championship? - doubt that too!

Still, reckon he'll leave it a bit, though I suppose a really shite result might change things

Re: Does McKinnon have 90 minutes to save his job?

I would vote no based on the fact it's already gone.
It's just a matter of when.
You don't recover from football this insipid.

Once sites like this are running these types of polls we all know the script.

Just hope the next appointment is non club related and a hard nosed experienced prick that commands respect and organises the team.

That's where I am too. He's done, it's just a matter of when Thompson decides to pull the trigger now.

There's no way Ray's going to change his philosophy after 15 months of turgid shite football.

Re: Does McKinnon have 90 minutes to save his job?

Yep dinner is in the oven about to come oot imo. He's bought a whole new team and results have not improved and performances have been torture. Even the points we have picked up non of the wins were enjoyable to watch. ICT first game of the season was shite and it's got worse as we've gone on.

Was willing him to do well but he needs to go sooner rather than later to allow someone in who can strat to attack this league by grabbing it by the balls.

Re: Does McKinnon have 90 minutes to save his job?

Sad state of affairs, but Ray has had a run at the task and failed.

Certainly shouldn't have been given such a long contract, certainly should be put on leave and paid monthly to prevent him creaming cash off United while doing another job, and probably should have been shown the door at New Douglas Park.

But the inept board will be choosing the next man- certainly not a good situation either.

Re: Does McKinnon have 90 minutes to save his job?

Its just a vicious circle we are going round in. We need a total clearout throughout the club.
My fear is that the club is close to or is already at the point of not being able to be saved

Re: Does McKinnon have 90 minutes to save his job?

We have another 12 games before we've played the other 9 teams home & away & there won't be any management change before then unless we're sitting outside a play-off position or double figure points behind the league leaders. A home draw v Morton on Saturday isn't going to change anything. Remember too there is not an outstanding managerial candidate waiting in the wings & the next guy up could easily do a Mixu. So give Ray McKinnon half the season & I predict  he & we will be able to enjoy our turkey.

Re: Does McKinnon have 90 minutes to save his job?

From what folk are saying, it's a comparison if cost.

Ie. what is the cost of staying in the Championship for another Season versus what is the cost of replacing the manager? (that's assuming we won't go up under Ray, but we would go up under somedy else).

Answers on a postcard please.
(if naebody kens the answer, then an educated guess will do).

Re: Does McKinnon have 90 minutes to save his job?

I imagine thompson would need to secure another loan to pay ray and the management team off.

Once he goes it will be interesting to see who shows an interest in the job. As working thompson and his merry men isnt the most appealing

That's something that concerns me.  Is Thomson a negative influence on how things are going?  Has he rubbed recent mangers up the wrong way leading them to simply not give a fuck or even have a fuck you attitude towards the club?

McNamara hit out at him on the back of how he was sacked.  Mixu from memory doesn't appear to rate the guy and it seems like Ray isn't even trying now.  Is there a common denominator?

Maybe I'm just looking for problems to blame for our predicament, but something isn't right and it needs fixed..... soon.

Re: Does McKinnon have 90 minutes to save his job?

We have better playera than the top 2 in the league, yet they can score more goals, play better football and gain more points than us.

Have they been using some secret tactics? No, they get the ball down, play quick passes and get the ball forward to their wingers who pop crosses into the box.

Why can't Ray see and use this? Fans in the crowd can see it and shout for it. Ray is inept tactically and cant take us any further.

I would get rid now, get a new manager in that will get is back to where we belong.

Agree with most of this except the inept part.  I don't think Rays inept, he's just really stubborn.  He wants us to play this slow, cautious, pass, pass, pass game and grind teams down, winning every match 1-0.  It's not working but he refuses to change despite people telling him (I bet some players have complained and I bet ST has said something). Why? because he thinks he's right and everyone else is wrong, that's why.  Arsene Wenger's exactly the same.
