Diddy Team

After the thread about rays record, I got to thinking if I was giving him an unnecessary hard time. If so, why.

I managed to get over our relegation better than I thought, even not getting promoted wasn't as hard.
The reason for this is that hearts, hubs and rangers mk2 had all been here as well recently.
We would take our lumps for having a shite owner then bounce back into the prem.

The way we are going though now, I fear we could become a proper diddy outfit circa Dundee the last decade.

Relegation after a nightmare season can be forgiven if lessons are learned.
Failure to get promoted can be forgiven as there was a bigger team ahead of us.

Now though if we don't get promoted against the absolute dross we are up against, worrying about Dunfermline away and hoping for a draw against st mirren, while not scoring goals - this isn't a jolly. We aren't bouncing back.
We will be consigned to the rank of diddy team.
Even if we get promoted we will be favourites to be relegated straight away.
A yo-yo club.
We would be in limbo with ST just desperate to get us promoted so he could sell us, all the while making the same type of shite decisions that got us where we are.

Rightly or wrongly, that's the reason I want RM away to fuck, closely followed by ST. If we stick with the status quo, we will be a top 4 championship team for years to come I fear.

Re: Diddy Team

Good summary but I feel you are far too generous with your final remarks -suspect we may not even be a top 4 Championship club and on the basis of the 2nd half of last season, we could well be battling for survival to stay in this league. Can't afford to sack McKinnon, can't afford to keep him.

Bring back the (real) "United Way" not the kiddy-on Martin version

Totally agree, however this is when the players have to up their game and quickly. We have some good players in our squad that should be winning this league, but with shite tactics and a silly formation that the manager is too stubborn to change, the players have to grow a pair and step up.

Ray pissed me off big time saying he would change to 4-4-2 and going for it, he's yet to deliver that. Still reckon we will get promoted this season but it will be no easy ride. If we do go up, I have no confidence in Ray to keep us there.

Re: Diddy Team

Watched MOTD yesterday and while I am in no way comparing us to Man City, the thought crossed my mind that we should be bossing teams like they did Watford. Coincidentally, they won 6-0 after RM saying people think we should be winning by that margin. I'm not saying that but we should be capable of battering teams and pinning them inside their own half.

Re: Diddy Team

McKinnon in the paper saying the players should have more self beliefShould he not have a bit more belief in them and let them loose and not restrict us to a shitey defensive 4-2-3-1 formation against Brechin or Dumbarton that hasn't really worked for over a year?

Rocky, he just needs to listen to what he says a bit more and things might start to improve.  He says we're gonna try a 442, but he bottles it.  He says we're going to attack, but then he sets us up to not concede.  He says the players should believe in themselves but he doesn't believe in what he is saying himself.

I want Ray to do well.  He's a local lad and an arab through and through, but if he isn't up to the job then fuck him and get him the fuck out my club.  This is a very important time in the clubs life, its not about Ray trying to find himself or tinker with ideas.  Get us set up to attack, get the players drilled to do what is required and make them believe in themselves by showing some belief in them.

Generally speaking, football isn't difficult at the base level.  Yeah fine tuning it can be, but we don't need fine tuned just now, we need points and goals and something for the supporters to get a bricker about.  Oh yeah we also need Thomson to get to fuck too.

Oooooohhhh yeeeeeaaaaaah!!
