Utd v Dumbarton - Saturday 9th September

To lose there once was embarrassing.

To lose there twice in a row a disgrace.

To lose to a team with 1 stand and 500 fans thrice in the space of a year would be an immediate resignation/sackable situation imho.

Big performance required against a team that gave us all sorts of problems last season (even at Tannadice).

Re: Utd v Dumbarton - Saturday 9th September

Given a blank canvas, able to re-sign/sign 16 first team capable players and even have time to piss about with "Ones for the future" if the manager can't put a team out to comfortably dispatch Dumbarton at home he should be shown straight out gate at the back of the dugouts, let alone be allowed back in the building.

Re: Utd v Dumbarton - Saturday 9th September

We need start seeing an improvement in the performances. We've not looked comfortable in any of our league games so far, not a trait associated with league winning teams.

Re: Utd v Dumbarton - Saturday 9th September

Talk in The Tully of our 'big guns' being available.
Big guns being named as Keatings & Fraser.
Selection headache for Ray, starting XI coming from a sizeable squad?
Only half a dozen definite starters for me -
Lewis
Durnan
Robson
Fyvie
Stanton
McMullan

Agreed.

I'd play:
Lewis

Murdoch
Durnan
Edge
Robson

King
Fyvie/Briels (fitness depending, I'd prefer Briels)
Stanton
McMullan

McDonald
N'Koyi

Subs:
Deniz, Quinn, Toshney, Flood, Briels/Fyvie, Fraser, Keatings.

Too much commotion

Re: Utd v Dumbarton - Saturday 9th September

Ray says on Arabzone that Keatings, Briels and Fraser only started ball work yesterday and won't be involved.

Re: Utd v Dumbarton - Saturday 9th September

Ray described Paddy's running style as 'languid'.
Spot on. Doesn't look like he's outpacing anyone but suddenly he's past him.
Keep it under your hat but I think we might have a player here.

Re: Utd v Dumbarton - Saturday 9th September

So if Briels, Fraser and Keatings are out along with Scobbie and M Smithit has to be

.                    Lewis
Murdoch.  Durnan.  Quinn.  Robson
McMullan. Fyvie. Stanton.    King
                McDonald. Nkoyi

Subs.  Mehmet, Toshney, Edge, Flood, Chalmers, Taylor, Allardice.

Be amazed if at least 1 of Fraser/Keatings isn't on the bench as the forward options are extremely limited without them.

Also not really sure which 2 centre halves I'd pick as tbh they're all capable of being pish.
