Curious to know why use would play King? Boys an empty jersey.

Re: Dundee united vs queen of the south, Saturday

Lewis
Murdoch, Durnan, Edje Robson
Frase, Allardyce, Stanton,
McDonald, Keatings, McMullen

I'll turn the clock back and go back to a system (4:3:3) which won us the League

Goodness knows why we play/need two sitting midfielders when they don't do the job. Both goals last night were conceded by the absence/wrong positioning of the def mids. I'd play the one Allardyce (my Stark-type) who played CB for the Dev team just to sit in front and give Durnan and Edje some decent protection.

Fraser would be my wide mid (Bannon type) and McMullen my wide forward (Ralphy type) on the other flank. Hopefully with Murdoch and Robson able to go forward, there will be plenty service from out wide to the 2 strikers.

Re: Dundee united vs queen of the south, Saturday

Will be at this game, surprisingly looking forward to it, as I've felt detached from football generally for a while.

Having watched the two games at Dens via the tv, the defence looks dodgy, but I know that anyway. We should be better than the other teams in the league, but with the present back line options, we'll take quite a few beatings too.

Re: Dundee united vs queen of the south, Saturday

That is a excellent win considering the circumstances, thought the defence were shocking first half (Quinn will play 100%), for me we were trying to give fyvie the ball at every opportunity for some reason, McMullan wtf was that all about totally unacceptable could have cost us the points shame really cause he had the boy on toast every time he got the ball, was a brain fart and won't do it again, mcdonald was excellent for me he is so so clever with his back to goal for such a small guy he does so well at bring the ball down! Fraser was excellent when he came on however see at the end when he did clap the fans, wtf was that all about boy needs to get a grip and realise he's gonna get stick

Re: Dundee united vs queen of the south, Saturday

Mcmullan let the side down today. It was  ciftci style reaction, came from nowhere and absolutely no need for it.  Top performers were Stanton Mcdonald & Fyfie all 3 are major upgrades on last year. On to next week.

Re: Dundee united vs queen of the south, Saturday

Thought Young Harry kept us in it, Stanton looks really good hope we can keep a hold of him and McMullan will learn from that hopefully, he was absolutely destroying their back four, a good three points considering.

Re: Dundee united vs queen of the south, Saturday

Seen a side of a United team ev no seen in a Lang time the day, real spirit and determination, Stantons a real bundle of energy, Fyvie keeps things ticking in middle nicely, Murdoch is an upgrade on Toshney and feel he will only get better.
On Fraser, there's nae argument that he's our most talented futba player, the argument comes over his appetite his approach to his gem, and eh think the squad being as strong as it is will only benefit um and mak um realise what he needs to be to get in the first 11 i.e the day he was better than McMullan, King & Keatings, fir me he's a btter player than the 3 mentioned but his work rate the day was what pleased me.

As fir the no clapping the fans SuperMario, he must see or here the amount oh abuse he gets therefore eh probably wouldni clap either, he must see how much other lads get awa wi and think **** me, the amount oh times keatings and king lost it the day, if it was Fraser there would oh been mayhem in the stands, cani slaughter the boy and expect him to clap use.

Re: Dundee united vs queen of the south, Saturday

McMullen made a mistake today and i'm hoping he learns from it.

I like the go for it style he has in attack and closing down & blocking/tackling players.

Rare for a player in his position to have all that in their game.
I want him to keep but channel his aggression into what keeps him special and on the park.

No sure Fyvie is fit yet. Rekon he will look better with Fraser playing too as he did. He was struggling for moving options and a wee bit rusty 1st touch at times. Sure he will do well this season though.

MOTM Harry Lewis for me. Stanton close 2nd.

Gutted  Flood fell oor that long blade of grass when one on one, groundsman must be more thorough before Brechin match next week.

Stressful but great 3 points. Delighted with that win.

No sure if he did or no but daft to be influenced by negative folk when the majority don't give grief or deserve no appreciation back and he has plenty fans in amongst the 5800 there.

Re: Dundee united vs queen of the south, Saturday

Knew this was gonna be a tough gehm, but didna realise how much a chunt of a gehm it was gonna turn oot. Found the gehm very frustratring.

Place livened up with Robsons attempt aff the post. McMullans run doon the wing, and his ba across were superb. McDonald the opportunist waiting to clip it in.

Lack of clearance for their free-kick which led to their goal. Sh1te having to play we 10 men, efter McMullan got sent aff. Happened right in front oe my. QOS player hauls him doon, and McMullan has a dafty and tries to smack the boy in the pus. Kent the boy was gonna get a Yellow for it. No happy at phuckin Rankin for shoutin and bawlin at the Ref to get McMullan sent aff, but when I saw the Ref beckoning McMullan our to him - thought here we go. Ref and linesman made a number oe questionable decisions. Fouls, handballs, and offsides given against us (but NO against them).

Dinna think Fyvie looked very fit. When I saw Fraser getting comin on, thought it was Fyvie he was comin on for - surprised to see it was Keatings. MacDonald looked knackered by the hour-mark. You could see he wasna harrowing the QOS defenders at'a, kinda sitting aff them and more midfield than foward.

Fraser made an instant impact on the gehm. Was only on for 3 or 4 mins when he scored. He went inta the box - think it was McDonald that supplied him the ba, and he put it inta the left of the goal. When he scored, still had 20 mins to go. Thought, we're no gonna be able to defend this, but defend it we did.

How the phuck could Floody miss that ane. Best chance oe the gehm for another ane. Dinna ken if he scuffed or what as he fell on his erse.

Harry Lewis saved our bacon a few times the day - MOTM for me. Stanton a very close 2nd.

Hard fecht but well deserved 3 points. We're top now. Hope we bide there.

( Oh Eh and see the Champions fae up the road are sitting rock-phuckin-bottom ).
