Re: Fraser Fyvie

Obviously he's a decent player, but don't know how to feel about this after the way he's fucked us about for the past month while a guy like Quinn's waited patiently on space being freed up all summer.

Re: Fraser Fyvie

very good signing and completes our midfield.

hopefully get Donaldson out the door and if it's Quinn to come in and replace them the squads/signings are complete

Re: Fraser Fyvie

For me, he's going to have to convince me he is committed to dufc... came across as money hungry with no commitment

Fingers crossed he will

Re: Fraser Fyvie

Good to have him on-board; who cares if he kept his options open, he's here now and as long as he gives 100% when he has that safety orange, er I mean tangerine shirt on, that will do for me.

Re: Fraser Fyvie

Don't blame the lad for looking around to see what deals were out there just wish he could have done it a wee bit quicker.

1 year deal signed and if he helps us get out of this league then moved on fair enough.

Thing is we dont know whats happened. He might have said hes happy with deal but was wanting to keep options open. Nothings came to fruition so hes signed with us. Obviouslymckinnons happy with that or he wouldnt have signed him.

Roll on the 'ness!

Re: Fraser Fyvie

Maybe everything was agreed and we were having to wait to free up some money before we could sign him and have done so with Bell going.  The timing of it happening straight after Bell leaving makes that look a likely scenario.

Oooooohhhh yeeeeeaaaaaah!!

Re: Fraser Fyvie

Welcome aboard, hopefully he can help to get us the fuck out of this league and back to the SPFL. Canny wait till tomorrow at 3pm.

Re: Fraser Fyvie

He got a sniff of a move to La Liga and pursued that instead of signing for a Scottish Championship club.

Not even the most blinkered United supporter can give him a hard time for that surely.

It never happened in the end and he's come back. I've zero problem with any of that.

Move to la liga  🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 boys a'right but no chance he was getting a move there. Happy to be won over but dundee united are too good/too big a team to be sloppy seconds off a player like fyvie.

Anyway - let's see some performances to make me forget that he's a sniggering cockwomble 😂

Re: Fraser Fyvie

I've never particulary rated him tbqh.

For me he is just another of these wee guys who has a modicum of ability who never seems like taking a game by the scruff of the neck when the going gets tough.

Would preffered us to have used the wages for a big, strong, physical forward who McMullan and King can give service too.

Really think the team lacks height (and strength).Particulary from middle to front.

All that said i (obviously) hope he proves me wrong and does the bizzo for us.

Hibs fans seemed fond of him but I'm not sure if that overall complexion is slightly rose-tinted due to him being one of the Scottish Cup winners.

Ach i guess we'll find out over the season.

Good enough for me, I'm sure Hibs didn't win these in spite of FF

He has also won the FA Cup with Wigan so can certainly point to quite an impressive c.v. for a young man.

But i can only give my opinion on the evidence i have previously witnessed. And the truth is i haven't ever particulary been taken with him.

Will he be good enough for us at Championship level?Probably.

So on those terms alone i suppose you could say he's a good signing.

But after signing Briels,Stanton and re-signing Flood i am left asking if his signing was really necessary? If he had been our first signing of the Summer fair enough but with the budget being what it is i personally would have preffered some height and physicality upfront.Though maybe that's just me.

I put myself in this camp too.  He's a wee chapper, nothing more, nothing less.  The way people are speaking you'd think we'd signed a reincarnated Billy McKinlay or something.  He'll do fine, but I'd rather we'd signed another winger for competition tbh.

Too much commotion

Re: Fraser Fyvie

here's another wee take on it- would you rely on Fraser,Willo every week no from me.

I've not included Briels and Stanton but fyvie is course and distance in this league and that can only be a good thing.

Re: Fraser Fyvie

Looks like we may have been the state mbling block in the deal.
When bell was first rumoured to leave we were away to sign fyvie, then both deals die down.
Soon as bell goes, fyvie signs.
This would suggest he is one of our top earners.

I think we have a strong squad now with some options off the bench, something we never had last year.
I would like to see us sign Quinn and a target man but realise this may not happen now.

Tek, you need to lighten up a bit, got to be one of the most negative posters ever
I didn't think we would go up last year and it was hard going to the games but I'm quietly optimistic this year of promotion.
Ask me again tomorrow though at 4:45 and it may be different

Haha, even you must be more confident this season over last. I think if Donaldson moves on we sign Quinn. I imagine we will have to pay up part of his contract though by the look of it.

That would leave us one big target man short of everyone's wish list, not a bad state of affairs.
Think we may be looking for that in the bargain basement/free agents / loan section if we do.

We'll have to wait and see, tbh numerous wee fast fuckers may pose more of a problem to championship defenders over boys battling the big lumps for headers. Still good to have that option though.

Agree with this. My optimism has returned and cannot wait. If things don't go well tomorrow then as said earlier it is a marathon not a sprint.

Re: Fraser Fyvie

Happy to get him, a bit concerned about the overload of wee midfielders.................. but what do I know?

Re: Fraser Fyvie

Fyvie's ok, but I'd have signed a CF, winger, RB or CB before another CM.  all depends on what's available right enough.
