The Irish and Welsh teams again come in later in the tournament.

Utd the holders start at a disadvantage at the very start of the tournament.

Personally id knock this tournament in the head. Priority is going up , not joke tournaments like this.
Unless we play our development team in it. Would be good experience for them.

They can p1ss off with colts teams - I would hope we play a colts side too and give the competition all the respect it deserves....none.

It's now as glamorous as the forfarshire cup.

I don't think Dundee United are 'too good' or 'too big' for this tournament.We are where we are.

But.....Yeah i'd play our Devs in this.

If they do well then all well an good.

But i would show the tournament disrespect because that's what they are doing to us.

They are now 'Colts' to breed familiarity to the concept of such sides playing in the league system.

I would hope our club is one of those which will reject that proposal, but I'm not holding my breath.

Colt teams only help the teams who can afford them - so likely rangers Celtic hearts...maybe Aberdeen and hibs.

The biggest get bigger, the rest play for leagues they won't be able to win.

That's twice we play them in three and a half weeks, both at Tannadice.
Sun Jly 23 in the Betfred & Tu or Wed Aug 15/16 in the Irn Bru.
It's almost a pity one of them's not at Central Park.
