McMullan motm for me by a mile. He was excellent.
Trialist midfielder was OK. Didnt do much forward passing but rarely lost the ball. Would take more time to decide over him. Anyone know his name??

Really need that target man up top. Think we'll get pleany of ball down the wings this season but lack the presence in the box.

I was impressed by the trialist in midfield. Someone who could pass the ball and was actually showing for it was a novelty after last season.
McMullen was excellent. King seemed to run into trouble a lot.

Looked ti me as tho we were playing a 4-2-3-1, with Matty Smith floating in and aroond Keatings. Fir me Billy King was just aboot average he never done anything that made me tak notice, that been said it's only the first pre season gem but he needs ti day mare. McMullan showed some good flashes which was positive.

Stolen from EF...
His Wiki page is interesting......
Jordie Briels (born 26 November 1991 in Weert) is a Dutch professional footballer who plays as a Midfielder for Dundee United FC in the Scottish Championship. Upon signing for the tangerines, Jordi proclaimed that he is here to "score burds and pull goals", and that his nickname of 'The Top Dutch Shagger' is 100% accurate.

I thought McMullan, Smith and Allardice were the standouts.
Trialist keeper had nothing to do.
I thought Quinn looked a bit dodgy, not comfortable on the ball.
Scobbie not troubled.
Centre midfielder showed promise, he always wanted the ball even when surrounded by more opposition, which I like.
King and Keatings showed flashes, King always tried to pass to Keatings when others better placed, annoyed me.
Striker missed a sitter with his first touch, heading over, showed some decent footwork but didn't get many chances, offside a lot.
Decent enough performance, bearing in mind Montrose were terrible.
Mehmet - 8 - for looks alone
Murdoch - 7 - standard
Quinn - 8 - I like
Edje - 7 - standard
Robson - 7 - standard
King - 6 - expected better?
Brieles - 7 - ok but no more than that
Allardice - 7 - I like, benchman plus
McMullen - 8 - encouraging, wish he'd had more than 45 mins
Smith, M - 7 - I like, benchman
Keatings - 7 - for the 45-yarder, 6 other than that
then subbies -
Ballantyne - 7 - good benchman
Scobbie - 7 - standard
Durnan - 6 - faulty back pass
Appere - 7 - squad player, potential, maturing
N'Koyi - 7 - silky touches, wasn't a sitter he missed, couldn't keep the rebound down
Chalmers - 6 - maturing
Taylor - 6 - maturing
Smith, B - 6 - maturing
Donaldson, J - 6 for not touching the ball

Remember how Durnan was written off a season and a half ago, cue wheelie bin?
I predict LT to be a success this season, please all let's back him from the terraces.
He's a big lad & can be a good physical presence for us too.
Bet you a Rishi's he comes good, bet settled mid-May 2018.
Nah not for me he s a liability and one that we could do without.

You're not suggesting Ray McKinnon's daft are you?
It's all about confidence, LT lost his last season.
He'll get it back & will be an asset IMHO.

I think King needs to be given a break. Remember as soon as he signed his pre-contract he didn't play in ICT's last few games if I remember right. So that might have been his first competitive game since April... Needs time to get his sharpness back. I am really confident that in him and McMullan we will be a massive threat in wide positions.
The only player I'll call out for playing poorly last night was wee Jamie Robson. Don't like doing that but I'd hoped to see so much more from him as I think he has massive potential and right attitude to go along with it.. Just his general positioning, first touch and the fact he was skinned a couple of times left me disappointed in his performance overall.

really? I thought the opposite to be honest mate. but from what ive heard there isn't any chance of him signing unless Donaldson leaves. Having 5 players (WE,MD,TS,LT,CD) that can play centre half means that we wont get the budget for a 6th no matter who it is.

Toshney was the only player McKinnon brought with him from Raith Rovers. He'd had a very good season playing in three different positions. A good Rover I know confirmed Ray's selection of Toshney. So he was playing with plenty of confidence then. He is a better player than fans saw last season, perhaps he was trying too hard. And as soon as he had a bad game the fans were right on his back, he got the Brian Graham treatment which does not help at all.

He had nowhere near the Graham treatment.
Comical to even think that imo

Correct, also Brian Graham was nowhere near as bad as Toshney has been so far.
