I think Ray saw N'Koyi as his 'big target man' type/all round centre forward. Unfortunately, so far he's proven to be firstly, not a target man and secondly, not very good at much else. I don't think there will be anything left in the budget to get yet another striker in unless they can move N'Koyi on which is obviously not going to happen until January at least.
He scored 2 goals yesterday.

I've been pretty unimpressed with what I've seen from Keatings so far. Obviously it could just be down to injury, but nothing I've seen so far suggests he's gonna be the one to fire in the goals that get us out of this league.
Bringing in a big striker to give the wingers something to aim at and someone for Edge to hit his aimless punts to is gonna turn some of those stuffy game where teams shut out our passing game into wins.

Keatings looks like he strikes a ball well, based on his set piece technique. I'm hoping he hasn't been rushed back from injury too soon.

Yeah, both were put on a plate for him. Inthe first half he looked dreadful though, 2nd touch a tackle, sclaffing at chances and unable to hold the ball up. Would never write anyone off but early indications weren't great. Eddie Ofere would've been really good with King and McMullen either side of him.

Right, but still in the first game you've seen him play a full 90 minutes he scored 2 and you deduce he is not a target man?

Were you at the game on Tuesday?
Agreed its early but I can spot a footballer who can't do the basics.

Certainly is too early to judge.
First twenty mins I'd have agreed with you - brutal, really poor first touch
After that though there was improvement.
Once he gets a few more games in I think there might be a player there and one that's a bit more direct than what we have now.
I never understand why folk are so keen to judge players so quickly. Nkoyi has clearly improved within the course of 90 mins, so could we not wait a few games before deciding if he's shite? Remember how long it took Jon Daly to become effective?

N'Koyi's touch was generally pish and he didn't look great in the air tbh, his movement off the ball however showed all the signs of someone with a bit of a football brain, he took the chances well, albeit they were easy. He's not going to start over McDonald regularly but I think he'll be ok as backup.

Only going by the highlights but i thought a decent Keeper is saving N'Koyi's header tbh.Wasn't exactly in the corner.
His first was a clever finish though.

I want to be proved wrong.
Online!
Tbh I thought some of the stuff knoyi was trying to do was clever but it could have just been one of them games where it just wasn't happening for him! I think he'll be aright, I would maybe start him at the weekend as I feel keatings as been a disappointment but think he'll come good with more game time and training

Haven't actually seen the highlights tbf. At 1st viewing it looked decent enough.
He will frustrate supporters at times that's for sure and his touch will need to improve ( I'm hoping that's just a lack of match sharpness) but there are good signs also.
Having said that if that's as good as his touch is ever going to be then LAO will be proved correct.

Joe Piggot coming in. 6 foot 2 striker. Dont know if its a trial or a signing.

This was one of the names we were linked with pre season - might have been here on trial. Don't why if there's a real possibility of signing him (unless of course we are not very good at managing things), that we wait until deadline day instead of giving him a pre-season and a chance to bed in, against the LCup and Fizzy Pop sides.
I think someone also suggested before that he wasn't very good.

Maybe Lester has some money left under his mattress to buy the club from El Serpentino.

Haha forgot about this.
Lester a signing, 2 year deal, praise be to the Tully.
Waddington a loan.
