Who's your favourite? Maybe a cult hero, maybe a no nonsense defender? We all know about the sturrocks nareys olafsons etc
Love a good strong defender so John Clark and Brian Welsh probably up there.
Sieb too although I'm not sure he was cult
Always liked Antoine preget as a player but he never really.made it with us (maybe it's because I saw him with a particularly big kick out at a dons player at tannadice which he got red carded for...

Good shout for Preget. I had it in my mind that he played maybe 20-odd gamed for us but according to Arab Archive he only played 7 games and according to his Wiki page, only played 50-odd games his entire career.

Good shout. Son-in-law says Dunfermline's another club after the 19 goal striker many United fans don't want. Nice to see a near vintage Dixon performance tonight rounded off by scoring the winning goal - what a time to score your 1st goal of the season

Outwith the obvious, i'd say Freddy Van der Hoorn.
Wee Erik, but abody loved him.

Andy Rolland, great servant to the club, and for a full back always seemed to score a goal, often from distance, when I managed to see United as a youngster.
But that's just today: tomorrow I'd maybe say Jimmy Henry. Friday it was Dickers and Simon.

Jerren Nixon.
Had bags of talent.

Grew up with Hamish and Luggy favourites.
Appreciated Heggy most witnessing his feelings in 2010. Modelled my playing style on Davie Psycho Bowman and reckon my unappreciated player to be one to remember might be Jason Scotland for that semi winner v Hibs. Best celebrated goal at Hampden by 5500 fans fkn ever!

Krivokapic became a favourite of mine when he started to run with the ball full pelt down the wing infront of the seggy towards his own goal with two opposition players (I think they were Dee's). Out of nowhere, he back heeled the ball, they didn't notice and kept running and Mio turned and took control of the ball and continued play.
The boy was a class act.
I also had really high hopes for Edison Machin, but after he came over to check out the club and signing for us he went back to South America to get his personal belongings and for some reason he wasn't allowed to leave the country. Out of interest, does anyone know what the reason for that was?

I'm sure Machin had some issue with his passport i.e. it was fake!
He looked some player tae, saw him in that reserve game that around 2000 turned up for to see him.

After I posted, I got it in my head it was something to do with prison, but maybe I'm getting Victor Fererrya and his pre-United stint in an Argentinian prison mixed into the equation.
What you're saying rings a bell.

Sorry for taking the thread slightly off-topic further but anyone remember Walter Paz?
Argentine former Internationalist that Wee Tommy signed who fucked off never to be seen again after just 1 days training?
Apparently he said when he got back home he had to leave because of the Scottish food.Somebody must have gave him a black pudding roll for breakfast or something 😂
