Heard a rumour at the weekend from a reliable source that the deal has already been done for groundsharing.
Dual branded stadium at camperdown with 3G surface.
Council onboard and direct access from kingsway to be provided as well.
Might be shite, might be true, boy is well connected with both clubs and has no reason to lie.

no even a 4g surface shocking
Its humour nature to lie and be deceitful

That's more my lack of knowledge about surfaces, he just said Astro.
While I can agree that those traits are part of human nature, they do not exclusively form it.
Without getting into a philosophical ical debate, it might be shite, it might be true.
Thought a message board was a good place to post rumours

it certainly is a good place for rumours EHA apologise if my reply came across as condescending that was not the intention. It might be a good question to put before club officials at any upcoming meeting

No worries mate.
Don't know who to believe these days with the amount of rumours going about.
The boy I know could've been told a pile of shite for all I know.
It is a fear at the back of my mind that the end game is amalgamation.
If ST's ultimate plan is to fuck off to Oz, do you think he'd care who he sells to?
Keyes, the property developer would then have a guaranteed sitting tennant and remain in Austin collecting off of both clubs.
I might just be paranoid though

Only rumour I have been told and it's from a dee is that one of the guys that is helping with the Fans United is a dee and wants the clubs to merge. If the clubs were to merge, football is dead to me.

I've said previously.
What if the only willing buyers of Thompson's shares were the Americans across the road?.It's no secret they see a 'one city club' as the way forward.
My fear is a ground sharing deal would bring a possible merger closer to fruition.Though it would be more of a takeover than a merger imo.

First thing I'd be wondering is, where's the money for this coming from?
What would a new stadium with say a 15k capacity cost - £25m seem about right? (or cheap given that the sheep's current preferred option for a 20k capacity is due to set them back between £40-£50m)
Where's the money coming from then, cos that's a lot of money needed.
I remain, to say the least, a wee bit sceptical.

Selling tannadice wouldnt bring in much so god knows how it would get funded if true of course.
Offline
are we even allowed to sell tannadice, does someone else not have a stake in it?
Offline
We wouldn't own the stadium, we would be renting. It's not us raising the money.
I'm assuming there will be private investors and council funding if it's to be done.
The security for the biggest loan is held over tannadice so we wouldn't get any money for that.
Dens is worthless for redevelopment so I doubt Keyes has any interest in owning this land ever.
Like tek says, on the face of it, it could be a good thing, I'd be worried about the end game especially when the 2 parties have no intent on staying in the country

This is the sensible view. Why would anyone want to spend this amount of money on building a football stadium that isn't needed? Why would United want to rent when they own? (It's not like Tannadice is prime site material and going to bring in a fortune.
Not convinced that there isnt plans afoot though, It's not the first time this rumour has reared its head.

Rent can be fixed for long periods. Maintenance costs on stadiums only increase. The land is worthless so there is little point in ownership here. Other than emotional attachment, which can't be discounted when it comes to sports, it would make financial sense in the long run.
Developers get investment so they aren't spending their own money and make money that way.
I'm not saying it would be the case in this instance but I wouldn't dismiss it so easily. This is what the boy Keyes does and a reason to be wary of him

A shared stadium there isn't in the pipeline.
In fact a proper stadium there given all that is required is proably pie in the sky.

That was my first question. It's a nightmare there when they just have the hockey on.
An access road direct from the kingsway would be needed.
I thought riverside would be more likely but apparently they can't build there as a lot of the land is classed as industrial not recreational.
It seems unlikely but I thought I'd pass it on anyway as, Ike I said, I do know he is fairly well connected.
