I had noticed - my point being, seeing as you appear to have missed it, is that while it's all very well criticising Eddie for overspending the effect of running at break even at that time would have probably been relegation and at best a good few years in div one - better in hindsight? - maybe but I doubt many would have seen it that way at the time.
I'm simply asking people to look at the context in which decisions were made at that time
Id say , imo, the thompsons are the worst thing thats happened to DUFC.

Te context at that time was that Eddie immediately de-stabilised the club by punting a decent experienced manager instead of giving him a chance to prove himself and appointing a series of duds, one after the other - Heggie (sorry Heggie), McColl, Chisholm, Brewster and wasting even more (of United's) money on a host of dud players as well. Eddie may have been a fan but was no hero/legend. His reign would have been an unmitigated disaster had he not got lucky with Levein & Houstie.
There may not have been a whole host of alternatives then and now but the Thompsons have been a disaster for United. I just wish they had been Funs supporters.

Nice try with the deflection tactic J
Your monthly order should be with you by Monday night
If I could suggest with the hot weather coming up you might want to add one of these to your order
You dont want the cue ball turning pink (seven away)
ps I've put your application form in with your order
