Welcome to the big man! I just hope we don't get sucked into punting long balls up to a big guy like that, it's something we fell into quite a lot with Daly - who at least had a partner up there with him (Russel, Goodie) to pick up any knock-ons.

Dont have a problem with long balls - its far better, more exciting and more attacking than this modern go nowhere passing fad that we've adopted ever since Jackie arrived which is boring the pants of all supporters of clubs who play this way. The way we played with Daly was good to watch and co-incided with our best performances since the Jim McLean days.Jim didn't play the boring go nowhere passing either - he liked his teams to get the ball forward quickly and out wide too
I agree a big striker needs a partner - he also needs service from out wide and hopefully the tactics will now change to accommodate the new personnel

Aye I get what you are saying. There is nothing wrong with a long ball if it's a good ball that is playing to the strengths of a big striker who is up there with a partner. But, as it seems RM does not want to play with two up-front (seems to be the fashion these days eh), punting a ball up to a big man with no support is a waste of time and so frustrating to watch.
Thing is, MiKkelsen doesn't actually look that big so the point is probably moot anyway!

I thought that too Slateford.
He has been reported as being 6'2 in every report i've read.
Didn't look that to me tbh.
In the warm-up whilst talking to Dillon he only looked marginally taller.
Dillon is 6ft so Mikkelsen could easily be 6'2"

He looked a decent height from where I was sitting, his movement was good peeling off the the back post tgen running across the CH'S something Murray could do with learning.
