Been gripped to this STV 3-parter about 1950s Scottish serial killer Peter Manuel. Hard to believe anyone could have so much front but he was clearly a psychopath.

An army mate back in the 50s told me that he had been in jail with Manuel whom he said had committed several murders, and was a nutcase. A couple of years later Manuel was hanged.
The TV series "In Plain Sight" is interesting, as is the following $sitewide%20p$4
Online!
His murder of the poor soul Anne Kneilands was the most brutal murder in East Kilbride's history.
And to Strathclyde Police's eternal shame they botched up the investigation and he got away with it and went on to kill many others.
I'm not really an advocate of capital punishment but in his case I'll make an exception. A monster.
He got off too easily if anything.

Er, I'm not too sure what would constitute a more severe penalty than hanging. Burning at the stake, probably. Not a bad idea, really, along with drawn and quartered.
