Taking aside the below par performance by most other than the defence, Obadeyi did well to time his run after Floods block on Harkins netbound effort and in a higher profile game his goal would be better hyped.
Now on Arabzone.
Well played Obadeyi. He was due something special!
Reminds me a bit of when Durnan helped clear then charged up and scored and turned a corner in terms of form. Hope Tope can build on this in a similar way.

Obadeyi's a weird one.
He can often look hopeless
BUT
When he plays things seem to happen through him quite a bit.
His pace definitely gives us an outlet.Something we really lack in the team.

A great ground, terrible toilet facilities. Grand wee bowling club (Hawkhill) next to the ground, so a good day out. But for I've lost my glasses.
The toilets still just a brick wall you pish on?

Must have upgraded the old place.

Brutal performance that.
Anyone happy with where we are at as a squad needs a reality check imo.
If we were in the Premiership we would still be flirting massively with relegation.
Are we any better than last season?Have a better spirit maybe.Certainly a better keeper.I just think tbh that the league we are in is of a very poor standard.
We need 2 or 3 good signings yet.But i think McKinnon does realise that, thankfully.

I've not been to too many games this season but we are ok (not saying yesterday was acceptable).
Teams will play united with 10 men behind the ball. We have to use hibs as our guide - a team who have been here 3 years and want to win the league. We beat Ayr 1-0 , they beat dumbarton 2-0. Not really a lot of difference.
They are a settled team with a lot of funding. We are a new team with considerably less funding and yet we are only a few goals behind them after half a season. Not saying we are world beaters but I think if we moved up to the premises with the current team, we would be comfortable bottom 6. Don't think we'd be flirting with relegation though. You daw in the Partick game - they weren't as keen to stick everybody behind the ball...

If we were brutal, then I'm delighted; as to be brutal AND to win means we've potentially turned a corner.
As per Tangy above, without coming anywhere near to hitting our straps this season, we are joint top albeit a few goals behind the HIVees with their Premiership budget and high profile manager on the back straight of a 400m race. I'm ecstatic with that.
The Manager made it clear from the outset he wouldn't just buy for buying sake and he's got us to where we are presently by staying true to that. He will know exactly what we need and he's only had one window. I reckon you need 3 windows to mould a team, but if you've not done it in 2, you're toast!!! There's no doubt he's got it as a coach and as a manager and he knows the direction he's taking the Club. I'm happy with the attitude, organisation and resilience he's brought to us.
You cannot compare apples and pears. We are where we are and accepting that reasonably quickly (and in the 2nd quarter for sure) has probably allowed us to be where we are - maybe heading for a 2-horse race. I did not ever consider this would be a possibility at the start of the season. Would the current squad struggle in the Premiership? Probably, but the Manager would not be in the Premiership with a Championship budget, so it's a non arguement.
Celtic and Neil Lennon's relationship with Peter Lawwell is going to go a huge way to deciding what happens in the January window in my opinion.
But I'm just looking forward to going to Kirkcaldy next Saturday. One game at a time!

This was a the most negative post imaginable after the run we have been on.
All Ray has done better than mixu and Jackie is a better spirit and keeper. Really??
Mixu lost to hibs twice. We've drew once and beat them this year.
Our defence is getting plaudits from opposition fans whereas last year it was ridicule.
Team setup and organisation is light years apart.
Sometimes it can be tough on the eye but effort and application wise is always 100%
No one said they are happy with the squad - least of all ray.
You would've thought we lost yesterday.
I think comparing the leagues is unfair. Contract lengths would indicate ray has built a team to get us out this league. The SPL team I imagine would be very different.
This team would beat mixus mercenaries 9 times out of 10

While Tek's post may come across negative, he makes some valid points.
We're not massively better than last season, results suggest we are but that is as much down to who we're playing as us.
IMO this team is an improvement on last year, but last years team (with the attitude, application and management it had) would be making St Mirren look good right now.
Yes Ray needs another 2 windows to create a Premiership team and it's obvious he knows this too. Right now Rays proving to be the manager I hoped he would for us. Winning is all that matters on the park while improving the overall level of player and playing style is happening gradually on the training pitch. He's also being helped by the fact that Fraser, Telfer and hopefully Spittal are ready now, they weren't quite ready last year and expectations were too high on them.
I'd be happy with the squad right now if we had 2 strikers and a genuine winger, it's obvious we need that to have a balanced squad. Easier said than done tho.
Laughed at the comment we'd be comfortable bottom 6 but not flirting with relegation, maybe have a look at the prem table, if ur bottom 6 ur flirting with relegation
So Tek's negative but right imo, but It's a gradual process of slowly raising the bar, right now we need a team to get up, then Rays real work will start. I believe he's the man to do it long term for us, hope I'm right.

Lads, maybe my post seemed negative. And i am not expecting miracles overnight.Rome wasn't built in a day afterall.
I am happy with the league position, the team spirit and, yes, the unbeaten run we are on.
I just don't wholly subscribe to the opinion of some (not so much on here btw) that McKinnon is performing some sort of footballing miracle on Tayside.
Edjenguele and Bell have tightened us up at the back and have proven to be good signings.
Guys like Durnan,Fraser and Telfer i think are shining a bit more because frankly the standardiof the league is poor. That's not to take anything away from them, because they are doing well and long may that continue.
I just still don't feel particularly confident about us beating anyone at the moment though. And we are not great to watch let's be honest.
But 3 good signings could change all that.
I guess that's my point. And let me reiterate my earlier comment for clarity.....Mckinnon knows that himself.

That's mair like it!
To be fair, in line with your thinking, I don't want a playoff as we will generally lose to the premiership team if history shows us anything.
A lot of arabs want to meet Dundee in the playoffs and relegate them. I don't, the wife's cousin is a hibee and he is petrified of the playoffs for the same reason.

I'm shit scared of the playoffs too as a good season can see a hickup keep us doon.
Good chance Hibs will strengthen in Jan.
RMcK kens what he needs and wants but pulling another £1 million player in on loan is unlikely.
Going to need some luck on top of everything else and a support that continues to be loud, more patient than usual and can turn an away match more like a home match like Dunfermline & Raith away.
Hard to gauge yesterdays win against much as even the sheep only won at Ayr by 1 goal recently in the cup and were helped by an OG.

Scrapy game but we held out. Wasnt pretty but wasnt the first nor will it be the last this season we have games like that.
Amazing support down 702 brilliant enjoyed it.

Won't be surprised if we treble that support at Kirkcaldy next week.
Support is bucking the Xmas trend.
Huge game.

The thing we have to remember also is the budget for players has been cut more than it would have been if we had avoided relegation so we would have signed a better quality or more players in summer.
Thompson and the board need to come up woth cash in Jan to win the league.

To me it's pretty pointless speculating where we would be in the top league if we hadn't went down - if we had stayed up RM probably wouldn't be the manager and the squad would probably be very different t what it is now. The fact is we are down and RM has signed players to get out out of this division. The players he has signed on permanent deals are all on one year contracts - what does that tell you? He knows the score.
I agree we still need to strengthen, but look how well we've done despite having a bit of a threadbare squad at times. Let's give the guy some credit and hopefully ST and the board will give him some dough in January.
