Morton v DUFC - Saturday 19/11/16 (3pm)

Arguably our low point of the season was crashing out of the League Cup against Morton at Cappielow on a deeply disappointing night.

But since then we have went on a great runšŸƒ

9 undeafeated
8 wins
1 draw
7 wins on the bounce

This of course included a win against Morton just 4 days later.

Morton themselves though are on a great run themselves.Since that defeat at Tannadice they are 6 undefeated in the Championship and 5 of these games were wins.

It could be argued that (other than Celtic) tomorrow's clash is between the 2 form teams in the country.

2-1 Utd (Fraser and Andreu)

Re: Morton v DUFC - Saturday 19/11/16 (3pm)

Looks fine but no sure if Obadeyi is worth a start. Due a good game though.
Teams looking to suffocate Andreu in packs  more recently means RMcK needs a fresh tactic and a performance fae a less likely scource or 3 maybe?

Hard result to call. Baith teams due a bad result.

Re: Morton v DUFC - Saturday 19/11/16 (3pm)

I have a feeling Spittal will start ahead of Obedeyi judging by the way Ray praised him in the press this week.

I'd prefer Smith personally but I thought Spittal had a good game last week to be fair.

I forgot all about Spittal.

He was ok ladt week tbf.Whereas i thought Smith was pretty anonymous tbh (i'm yet to be impressed overall).

Starting to assemble a pretty strong squad in all but 2 positions (striker and left back).

Re: Morton v DUFC - Saturday 19/11/16 (3pm)

LB positions fine, Dixon had improved recently and Robsons doing well.

We need a striker and a genuine winger IMO, although I think if we get the striker right that could well be enough to win this league.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Toshney and Spittal start.

That is what I think McKinnon will go with not my personal choice.

Re: Morton v DUFC - Saturday 19/11/16 (3pm)

Not managing through today due to transport issues, but looking for a win, 3-1 would be my prediction and I'd be delighted if correct. Maybe Ray reckons Tope made a difference in the home game against Morton when he came on, so will continue with him: I think he will, as he was 'rested' completely last week, indicating the manager might rate him as an important top team talent.

For me, I'd go on form: Tope's been poor of late, Charlie Telfer has done well, so I'd be wanting him kept in the starting line up.

I really rate Robson, but longterm Dixon ain't the answer.

Re: Morton v DUFC - Saturday 19/11/16 (3pm)

No idea how it went today, wife working, ill child, but while it's not the result we wanted it's not a bad result.  Be interesting to know how Spittal played.

2 weeks to get ready for the biggest game of our seasoon so far.

Re: Morton v DUFC - Saturday 19/11/16 (3pm)

Absolutely soaked but not too dissapointed with the draw the game could have gone either way although we definately had the better chances Fraser with the best one drawing a good save from thier keeper. Durnan mom again for me  immense. The edge Flood van strike and fraser also played well downside Murray had little or no impact Telfer gave it away too often Spittal ive seen him worse and Andreu had by far his worst game in tangerine. Plenty of spirit and determination but lacking up front.

Re: Morton v DUFC - Saturday 19/11/16 (3pm)

Disappointing not to continue the winning run but a point isn't too bad and may actually prove invaluable come the seasons end.

The games against Hibs will be everything.

Cheers Beharder. Appreciate a travelling fans eye witness opinion.
Hoped furra win, expected a hard game and worried about a bad end to a great run.
Draw isnae a bad result.

Hibs hame is now massive in respect of keeping the gap close.

Re: Morton v DUFC - Saturday 19/11/16 (3pm)

What a dump of a ground and cannot believe in this day and age it's £18 to stand in puddles uncovered getting pished on......

We should have nicked it with the chances we created once Murray went off, he was absolutely hopeless yesterday to the point of being cringeworthy.

Really hoped to see Spittal shine yesterday but alas he didn't really do anything of note.

Another good solid defensive performance though and a deserved clean sheet.

Re: Morton v DUFC - Saturday 19/11/16 (3pm)

F***ing frozen watching that yesterday! Not a bad point I suppose but definitely had the chances to win it handsomely. Worst I've seen Andrue had zero impact and slowed everything down for us. Spittal as good as ever at his own hide and seek game laddie offers nothing at all surprising Ray left him on. Telfer poor also. Cammy Smith should of been on much earlier gives you more than the other 2. Fraser for me was our MOM, looked like the only one with a bit of quality and only one that excited me when he got the ball running at players they couldn't handle it, we will be f***ed if he goes in January!

Anyway roll on Hibs!

Tony was poor yesterday. Still the king though.

Re: Morton v DUFC - Saturday 19/11/16 (3pm)

I think there's more to come from Tony.

He hasn't been absolutely sparkling for us the way he was for Hamilton.

He's that good a player that he's been a stand-out in this division just playing in 2nd gear though.

Re: Morton v DUFC - Saturday 19/11/16 (3pm)

He mentions confidence in interviews. He's done great overall so far, mibbies too much fae the start. Naecunt scores a ratio fae midfield of 1 a game. We must give him a break and not expect that week in week out.

At the same time no player is beyond criticism but don't think grief will push him on.

Lucky to have Le Goal Frog in oor team.

Back him.

Murray is gash, no intelligent runs or anything come from him a new striker is a must in January
