Ballantyne can't play, he's on loan to Montrose. I'd be happy with that team otherwise. Sadly, Matty Smith not rated by Ray, he's been injured as well. Been on the bench recently for the u20s which shows how out of favour he is. I hope I'm wrong though. Coote and Robson for those two.

Ahhh bugger, never knew Ballantyne was on loan.
Is Brett Long also?
P.s. Disappointing that M.Smith is so out of favour. He alongside Justin Johnson impressed me greatly at the tail end of last season.

Murdoch was being lined up for a comeback in this game a couple of weeks ago.

Seen JJ in a few u20s games this season to say hes inconstant is an understatement.

Brett Long was recalled from Forfar when Bell got his operation. Matty Smith started for the u20s last night and scored! But was subbied after 71mins as was Toshney so read into that what you will (being kept fresh for Saturday??). Wasn't there so can't comment on why. Hopefully the laddie gets into contention though. I'd have him in the team before Tope any day of the week (and drunkenly told Ray this a few weeks back in Clarks).

Raymond has played a strong team in both these cup matches so far, so will probably put out a line up with more regulars than most of us may like to see. Zwick will be in goals right enough, but the rest of the team I expect to be closer to recent choices than not.

That would be a boost if he can play on Saturday.
Give Telfer a rest.

Ach young players normally are TA.
Particularly winger types.

Maybe Mckinnon's keeping him in the team to spite you.

I never actually slagged Tope (I think he has assets and having spoken to him, he seems like a nice lad who wants to do well for us, but agree he's been poor recently and needs a rest), I was more talking up Matty Smith and Ali Coote.

Telfer had his poorest game I've seen this season on Tues. He kept getting caught on the ball, mis-controlling it a lot, gave it a away a few times and generally struggled to close down or impose himself on the game. Ray did the right thing subbying him when he did.

Being in bed for the 4th day with the flu, I'm totally Donald Ducked. Already had my ticket but managed to pass it on to a m8. (the ticket that is - no the phuckin flu)

Even though the Dillon/Donaldson combo gives me the fear it's probably not worth risking our first choice centre half pairing for a fizzy pop cup game.

Another win, another clean sheet, got to blood some youngsters, and got to ease Murdoch and the impressive Toshney back into match fitness.
That'll do for me.

Premier Sports stated the semis would be the weekend of the Morton home match, but the SPFL site lists the previous week (18/19 Feb) meaning our next trip to Paisley will have to be rescheduled.

Premier sports also had suker starting upfront for us today.
Boring game good to see fringe players getting time.

Assuming no injuries, I can see only positives from that today.

All in all a good day. Win the match, lads rested, other lads got a game, Hibs drop twa points at home.

Exactly.
Wasn't there today, but sounded like Brad Smith played well also which is good to hear, also Graham Taylor getting a debut too, another who impressed me the one time I seen the dev team this season.
I know a lot of folk want us out of this cup, but I want us to win it, winnings a habit we need to keep going. We should really be winning almost every week in this league (and cup) regardless of what side we put out.

I'm one of the folk who want us out this cup, but as time goes on the rest of your argument could persuade me otherwise. Winning's a good habit, my annoyance is at the way the tournament was and is set up.
Still won't be going to the final if we get there right enough.

Does anyone know the venue for the semi final?

if they have any sense it will depend on the draw, so ibrox and parkhead £30 a head it is then

Ive read its a home game for the teams drawn first rather than a neautral venue?

Only the finals neutral I'm sure.
