Get him in at Right Back.
He's not and never is gonna be a consistently useful attacking type player.
That position would be the last throw of the dice for me.In regards him ever making a position his own and being a regular at Utd.
Actually I think he could play Left Back also (at a push).
Despite finding him a frustrating player my gut feeling is there is a player in there.

Agree with this sentiment TEK, hasn't done enough to merit a spot in one of the three behind the striker and could have promise as a right back.
If we had three decent centre half's (no laughing at the back) I would love to see us play three at the back with wing backs, of which Spittal and Robson would be excellent I think.

Spittal is horrific

That's fucken harsh.
He was decent last season (well better than most others), but to be fair he's been pish so far this season.

Question to those who say he's 'horrific'.
Toshney's seemingly crocked (again).
Spittal or Dillon at RB?
That's it. That's the only two options we have.
I'm going Spittal. If there's ability there (and I think there is) then it's Mckinnon's job to bring it to the fore.

Equal gamble and Dillon seems to be on a decend when Spittal should be improving.
Rekon McKinnon will believe he can help the latter become the best way forward but dont think he will make decisions based on the future at this time.

In his first season, Spittal played quite a few games at right back; one game in particular I remember him there was when we beat Hibs at Easter Road in the League Cup and he played really well there. Agree with Tek on this; get him into right back and Toshney into CH (when fit).

The three D's have had their chance and there's no hope of improvement there so we have nowt to lose by trying this line up at all........almost impossible for them to be worse than Donaldson and Durnan together .
