Some folk seem to get a hard on for predicting the future then coming back to say "Told you so"
I'm sure these people want United to be shit, just so they can have a bitch and moan.

Did you go and watch that lastnight?
Most of these players are going to be in our first team squad for the coming season amd looked piss poor. Yeah its the second game in pre season and the surface may have played a part in the performance but its far from encouraging

I don't mate. I love United and will go anywhere to watch them. I am a realist though and can see that some of these boys will be in the first team this season and they were brutal last night.

No I didn't. I don't like pre-season games. They are valuable for the manager and coaching staff but a waste of time for fans imo.

Life is too short too worry about these games.

My worries are more than last nights performance.

Re: Forfar Athletic v Utd - Tuesday 5th July 7.45pm

Was a bit concerned at the game but the more I thought about it the more I came to realise that line up is nothing like our starting XI this season.

Off the top of my head I'll list the likely replacement for every player in last nights team.

Bell > Zwick
Toshney > Dillon
Donaldson > Sukkar
I'll leave in Souttar but Durnan is there also.
Dixon > Robson
Obadeyi > Johnson
Murdoch > Telfer
Fraser >Ballantyne
Spittal > Coote
Murray > Anier

Also likely that the rumours of Ploj not getting offered a deal means it's likely we'll be bringing in a big physical target man which Ray has suggested he wants. Noitced last night we severely struggled to hold the ball upfront so likely that is the reason Ploj will be off. Thought he looked okay when he got in behind but we have Murray for that so we don't need another striker who plays off the shoulder.

Re: Forfar Athletic v Utd - Tuesday 5th July 7.45pm

From last nights 11:

Zwick - Didnt have much to do in all honesty. Not sure what his fuck ups were?

Robson - looked good, Didnt shrink. will still be backup to dickers I think.

Dillon - Think he'll play at RB for us next season. We dont really have another RB!

Souttar - Composed, Always looking to get on the ball and plenty talking.

Sukar - See souttar.

Telfer - Squad player. Not comfortable on the ball and struggles to move play forward.

Ballantyne - showed telfer up IMO. Good engine and always looking to take the ball. Will be in about

Johnson - took him a while to get going, fell over his feet a few times but 2nd half had the full back on toast. He'll be in around the first team

Coote - good first half, quiet 2nd then subbed. anaother who will make first team squad

Anier - Lowpin. No first touch at all.

Ploj - honkin. No pace, missed a couple of good opportunities. No deal for me.

Average age of just 21. People should definitely not be worried. Individually there were some good performances.

9 or 10 of our starting 11 from last night wont start vs Brechin I'd imagine.

We were pish last night. Folk who were there are commenting on that.

Why is that a problem exactly?

There's no balance to these comments though. It's the same folk with the same negative mentality, despite a new coaching regime and almost a completely new team!

I personally think I have been behind McKinnon the most on this board, just think there's still far to many wage thieves at our club

I would say all ive said bad personally since Ray has took over is regarding last nights player performance over alk.
I was more meaning that with the good that has been said about Ray

Pish is pish whether it's old or new.  When everyone who was at the game last night thinks we were pish, there's a fair chance that we were actually pish.

I wasn't there so no idea how good we were, but what I would say is although most of those playing last night aren't gonna start regularly, they are our bench and need to improve. The squad still needs quality brought in in the forward areas and fast, personal opinion is we can't afford what we need, hence messing about with trialists hoping to find someone rather than knowing they're gonna do a job.  Not Ray's fault, but that's what he's having to do.

Wasnae at the game. Visiting my sis in Yorkshire. Some of you guys saying Ploj missed a few 5 yard sitters. What was the nature of the misses? Tappy ins. Angled shots. Over the bar, round the post.
