Re: Partick v Utd - Tuesday 5/4/16 @7.45pm

I think that will be the team TEK.

Personally I would like Durnan over Morris but Mixu won't.

I think Murray really deserves a start after his sub performances in the last two games, again I don't think Mixu will think the same.

I'd like:
.....................Kawashima.....................

Knoyle....Durnan...Gunning..Dillon

..........................Demel...........................
...................Paton......Rankin..............
............................Dow............................

....................Murray..Anier................

Subs - Szromnik, Dixon, Fraser, McKay, Ofere, Spittal, Morris.

Dillon for Donaldson will be the only change unless Demel is struggling then Spittal will come back in.

Re: Partick v Utd - Tuesday 5/4/16 @7.45pm

I quite like Murray but think he offers more threat from coming off the bench and running at tired defenders in the later stages.

McKay and Anier have the makings of a partnership so I'd give them another chance.

We'll need to be much more clinical tomorrow when we get chances. Some poor finishing on Saturday despite the win.

Re: Partick v Utd - Tuesday 5/4/16 @7.45pm

Could the game be in doubt with this weather and their shite pitch?

Too much commotion

Re: Partick v Utd - Tuesday 5/4/16 @7.45pm

If its shitey weather and a nightmare pitch, its probably going to suit us.
Turning games into battles are what we're good at just now. Not much easy-on-the-eye football, a lot of long hopeful balls.

If this is the case, i'd actually consider starting Ofere. Not blessed with great skill but he's a unit and will win headers (both ends) Pair him with any of mckay/murray/anier to chase the knock ons/link up.

Re: Partick v Utd - Tuesday 5/4/16 @7.45pm

Tomorrow will be a real test for Knoyle if he plays what with that horrendous patch of sparse grass/mud on the corner of the Jackie Husband Stand.

That and the fact that Patrick play with two proper winger's in Lawless and Amoo.

I'd play Dillon LB. Dixon worries me greatly these days.

Re: Partick v Utd - Tuesday 5/4/16 @7.45pm

Dixon should be nowhere near the starting 11 tomorrow. Absolutely brutal since he came back.

Re: Partick v Utd - Tuesday 5/4/16 @7.45pm

Morris can't play LB, it's either him CH and Dillo LB or Dillo CH and Dixon LB.

Then there's the possibility he goes back to 3 at the back!

Don't know if Demel will make it, might force a more attacking midfield if he doesn't tho.

We were pretty poor on Sat, so hopefully an improvement along with the same desire and fight and 3 points will be ours.

Agree. Amoo is a good player.

United red card roulette might go to Dickers tonight.

Re: Partick v Utd - Tuesday 5/4/16 @7.45pm

Sounds like United have been excellent this first 30, a few good chances, Thistle keeper "keeping" them in it.

Deja vu from Saturday, hopefully get the same outcome.

Re: Partick v Utd - Tuesday 5/4/16 @7.45pm

Half time, 0-0.

All United but Thistle shout for a penalty near the end for a Gunning pull on the shirt.

McKay put the ball in the net on 45 mins but offside.

Re: Partick v Utd - Tuesday 5/4/16 @7.45pm

In the past 2 games we must have carved out about 10-12 really good chances, and yet we've only scored one (and a keeper howler at that). You can talk about 'bad luck' and points/games left to get out of it yet BUT the bottom line is if you don't score goals you don't win games. And we have proven time after time this season that we can't kill a team off when on top.

Failure to win on Saturday should just about seal our fate.A Kilmarnock win most certainly would.

Re: Partick v Utd - Tuesday 5/4/16 @7.45pm

Where do you start on that

First half we were excellent and wasted 4/5 clear cut chances......

Then half time and it was obvious Thistle would change it about and were right into us from the whistle but Mixu waited and waited then waited some more until we were being completely outplayed before changing it but it was FUCKIN too late.

That was a catastrophic defeat tonight after a brilliant win at Perth

Ryan Dow........

Re: Partick v Utd - Tuesday 5/4/16 @7.45pm

Bunch of overpaid cunts!

Dixon holy fuck he should be first out the door- complete embarrassment as with gunning, how on earth he never got sent of for the absolute assault on there player! What does si Murray need to do to get a game?? Fraser was a complete waste of space when he came on and I predicted it at the game! Mixu CANT be here next season he's a complete fraud of a manager!

Re: Partick v Utd - Tuesday 5/4/16 @7.45pm

Simon Murray really is a strange one.Always impresses when he comes off of the bench, but constantly overlooked.

Surely he deserves a start on Saturday now?I'd like to see Erskine back in the squad as well tbh.We have very few players who can beat a man.He can.A good option from the bench at the very least.

Re: Partick v Utd - Tuesday 5/4/16 @7.45pm

Tell ya what pisses me of he keeps bring on Fraser who for me does absolute fuck all then when he gets in a decent position he goes down and dives- pathetic! Erskine is a hard one ! Murray is just baffling- offers more than most! Muirhead where's he??

Re: Partick v Utd - Tuesday 5/4/16 @7.45pm

Powder puff up front and a manager who can't or won't react to opposition changes. Nightmare. Not long in. Seek.

The Demel/Spittal substitution should have been made at half time and Murray should've been on after an hour. We should've also went to a flat 4 in midfield at that point to counter their wee right back.

Btw, I can't believe someone has already singled out Gunning why? Total boo boy fave. He had a good game tonight as he did Saturday. Some peoples obsessive hatred of him is embarrasing. In actual fact, the back 4 were decent again. It was in the final third and in the dugout where our problems lay tonight.

Re: Partick v Utd - Tuesday 5/4/16 @7.45pm

Sounded like a night and day performance in each half, if we had got the goal in the first half we probably go on to win this 1-0.

I said it after Saturday and before yesterday, I can't believe Murray hasn't done enough to warrant a start after his impact v Dundee and St Johnstone.

If we win on Saturday all is not lost, 10th probably out of reach but 11th is still achievable, St Johnstone and Dundee need to win on Saturday to guarantee top 6 so hopefully they do it, and if we win then we go into the split 2 points behind Killie and 6 behind Hamilton.

Hoprfully table stays as it is and post split gives us games v Thistle and Ross County when they've nothing to play for and winner takes it all games v Hamilton and Killie.

Re: Partick v Utd - Tuesday 5/4/16 @7.45pm

Well that was fucking dreadful last night! So many missed chances in the first half and then the second half fuck knows what Mixu said to them at half time but it was last a totally different team.

Get Scott Fraser and Ryan Dow away to fuck ASAP soft as shite and really not what we need just now. Also what does Murray have to do to get a game? Honestly last night was perfect for him but still couldn't get on.
