Resilience

We finally seem to be gaining this vital ingredient to our team.

We've had 7 red cards this season.7 seperate games this season we've went down to 10 men.We have won 4 of those games.

In particular worth pointing out is that 3 of those red card games were in the last month or so (Anier v Hearts,Durnan v County,Donaldson v St.J) and yet we've won ALL of them.

Even the Dundee game (as horrifically as it was going at half time) we ultimately,never buckled.

I think this new found team spirit and the fact that we can score goals and Killie seemingly can't very often might just see us get 11th place.

Though one game at a time an all that.

Re: Resilience

It's been good of late, first half of the derby aside.

We've got a real chance to finish 10th, we need our three rivals Aberdeen, Dundee and St Johnstone to do us a favour over the next 6 days, starting today with the Sheep v Hamilton.

We need to win our next two, if we do and results go in our favour we go into the split in 11th and 3 points behind Hamilton in 10th with probably an equal or better goal difference and hopefully on a good run of form that includes a semi final victory.

It's going to be a shit storm down there after the split, wishful thinking probably but I think it'll go down to a last day winner takes all between Hamilton and Killie like Killie v Falkirk in 2010.  Was a no bad cup final the week after that too......

Re: Resilience

random memory of that watching that killie v falkirk game in 2010 was of a young boy for falkirk volleying over the bar in last minute, was a tough chance and felt so sorry for the boy.

Re: Resilience

I was actually at the game Kiwi.

I couldn't handle the build up to the Scottish Cup final so took the family down to a caravan park near the Solway Forth for the week before, went to Killie for that game, 0-0 it finished, think it was a boy Flynn that had the chance against Combe right at the death.

Was nail biting stuff and I couldn't care about the outcome!

Re: Resilience

Just looked at the form guide for those in danger.

From the last 6 games, 18 points available:

United = 10
Hamilton = 5
Inverness = 4
Killie = 2

The same form for the last six will see Killie bottom and us in 11th (and that's assuming we win and Hamilton lose their game in hand....) So we need to improve on current form to finish in 10th, assuming Hamilton continue in the same form too.

Bigger ask than I thought.

But better reading than Billy's projections?

Deffo Bugsy, we are the form team and are away to play everyone around us, including Inverness twice, who are in terrible form.

I'm sure we'll get 11th now, 10th a big ask but Hamilton can be caught if they lose next week and we win both our games.

Re: Resilience

Before playing us opposition managers are quoted as saying that we are "fighting for our lives".

Don't think that helps their own players. Whatever they are playing for is less critical than us being bottom and written off and that psychology helps us.
Even more when we have a good vocal backing to back it up pushing us on!

Let's MAKE those above us shite it!

Hamilton will finish below Utd. Canning is a total clown.

Good take hear Mixu playing mind games and building up Killie on the radio.  Wish we could get Tannadice the sound like the away end at Ross County and Macdiarmid. They were speaking aboot that on the radio the night.
