Re: United connections pictures

Aye, Tek, I think he is back working at Melbourne Victory presently. Previously was managing a lower league Aussie side.

Great player, it's said.

Born a few miles from me in Grangemouth, I had relatives who played football with Wattie Carlyle. By a twist of fate, he was joined at Tannadice a few months after he signed in 1960, by Neil Mochan, even more local to me.

The pair's goals were instrumental in establishing United in the top league, rather than the yo-yo side they had previously been when they had managed to get into the highest level.

Re: United connections pictures

Spot on. The second ever Kirin Cup which is now an international only tournament. Was lucky enough to see Scotland win it. Big piss up in the boozer before and after. Some amount of hangers on getting free trips out the SFA then. Jim Duffy etc wtf were they doing there?

Re: United connections pictures

What's the point in these guys at the matches?

Many folk missed a big spell at the start of the match because of mismanagement from St Johnstone, stewards sending fans to different stands only for them to be sent in a different direction, polis (including four on horses) standing around unable to intervene or advise.

See if we hadn't won, I'd have been furious at paying in (late) to a disorganised stand, only to see a ground half empty.

Mr Blunket it's good to see you posted away for the braille version of TT.(please send cheque to No.83 Tekel Towers,Tekville,FTD83 1909)

The answer is indeed the nonchalant figure that was/is Mr Freddy Van Der Hoorn of Den Bosch.

Ok can anyone answer me this 3 part question?

1)Who are the 3 players here (from RIGHT TO LEFT) ?
2)What club did they all play for in above pic?
3) 2 of the players have a concrete DUFC connection. What is the other players tenous link to Utd?

and for a bonus point.....

4)Who was the Manager of said club at the time (who also has a tenous link to Utd)?

The guy in the middle is Magnus Skoldmark. No sure about the other 2. I'd guess the link might be somethin to do we Gothenburg.

Eidjour(sp) Gudjjohnssen (sp again!) dad and team is Obero or something like that. Played against us for Anderlecht I guess as he missed the pen for spurs to win. Nae idea on the manager.

Correct JA.

It is Arnor Gudjohnsson (sp),who is the Father of Icelandic legend Eider (who was linked with us last November.

The team is indeed Orebro of Sweden. And their Manager at the time with the tenous link to Utd was Rolf Zetterlund (Father of Lars).
