Thanks for the numbers LAO.
The 3rd game of the opening Round was a close-fought (and long played out) affair that was eventually won by the Oasis track 'Talk Tonight' which is a B-Side that features on 'The Masterplan' B-sides album. The three tracks that suffered defeat (and are therefore eliminated from the tournament) are 'Gas Panic', 'My Big Mouth', and the unlucky track,B-side 'Listen Up'.

I like all of them as different as they all are.
'Live Forever' kicked it all of for me in my fandom of Oasis.First time i heard that i just thought 'Who the fuck is that? They're brilliant!'.
'Cast No Shadow' is a song they wrote about and for their friend Richard Ashcroft of The Verve. He wasn't famous at the time and this was a wee tribute to him from Noel. One of those songs at 15 or 16 or whatever i was when i heard it that seemed to have a deeper meaning and you had to scratch under the surface for the answer to the riddle that were the lyrics. At 15 or 16 listening to something that makes you think twice is a pretty powerful thing.
'Half The World Away' is another of their great B-Sides and of course is pretty well known in the nations psyche due to it being the theme tune to 'The Royle Family' and then just last year being covered for the John Lewis Xmas advert.A great tune and in any other Round would deserve to go through (But this is a tough group LAO's picked).
My vote (as futile as it would now seem) goes to 'Stand By Me'.It just reminds me of a great period in my life (as does the whole 'Be Here Now' album infact).I also like Noel's guitar riff and the long reverb intro.Liam's vocals are great in it (as are Noel's backing vocals).I always liked this acoustic version of them singing it together (there was a better version on Youtube but it seems to have been taken down now unfortunately). It was also a bit of a departure to hear such an unashamed 'Love song' from them.Noel had of course wrote others before then (Wonderwall etc) but they always were more subtle and ambiguous in their context and subject matter.
