Early early bird offer
"Get your Season Ticket before we know which Division we'll be in!"
Chancing the arm a wee bit there, are they suggesting if we are in the lower league, we'll be paying the same or more than we did this season? But take a risk and save £20?

£9 postage and packaging!!

"Every £ of your season ticket money goes to the playing squad budget".
I don't know whether I believe this.

First thing first, £279 is an incredible deal for a DUFC season ticket, relative to other clubs and current prices that have been frozen for a while.
Now the caveats.
We don't know if we'll get 19 home games in the Premiership or 18 in the Championship.
£15 a game is still too much for a game of top flight football in Scotland, let alone second flight.
Season tickets are not the money saver they used to be, it's great to pay it up or pay one off so you're not stumping up £20 every home game but every season there is friend for a fiver, £10 entry, three for £20 type offers, if you miss one league game you'll pay more with a season ticket than patg.
Regardless, a season ticket is about more than value for money, it is the best way to support the club financially.
I think the club are being quite cute with their statement about every penny from seasons going into the playing squad, it's marketing and will be 100% accurate in the sums but it won't be ring fenced.
Say they make £1m from season ticket sales, and the playing budget is £1.1m then "every penny" from the seasons has went on the playing budget, when in reality it's like any income it will pay whatever needs paid in the summer.
Sorry, that turned into a lot longer post that I meant when I got up on my soapbox.

They need the money in now to pay the bills, a blind man can see that.
And for our our Europa Cup signing spree, obviously. Why is the Club launching season ticket sales in March when we don’t know which league we’ll be playing in?
The Club is launching tickets this early to enable our season ticket holders to gain an extra discount for their loyalty with the introduction of the new ‘Loyalty Period’ prior to the start of the ‘Early Bird’ Period. An additional benefit is that the Head Coach will be able to know his playing budget earlier than usual. This is particularly important going into next season with Dundee United due to play in either the new League Cup group stages, or if successful in the William Hill Scottish Cup, Round 2 of the Europa League, both of which would see us in competitive action in week commencing 11th July.
Frightening.

Don't know if I'll buy STs for next year or not yet, but I won't be bloody buying them in March.
I'll go next year regardless of us being down a league, but STs are not value for money anymore and don't really see the need to rush to get them, it's not like I'm going to struggle to get a seat is it?
If Utd had resolved the issue of value for money then it'd be a no brainier, but instead they've confirmed they'll keep giving ST holders offers for others to go cheaper. Quite frankly fuck the others, give me the offer or why should I commit my money to you earlier?
BTW, we all know which league we'll be playing in 😔

usual selection of negative comments here. if or when we go down the only thing that will differentiate us from our opponents will be our larger fan base meaning a larger playing budget. for that reason im in.

I'm not usually 'negative', but at the same time I don't like to be conned or treated as a mug.
As an aside, if we go down I'll get a season ticket, if we stay up, I'm not so sure.

You do realise we have the 3Rd highest budget in the premier league. That's working well.

Excuse my genuine ignorance here Pat, but I'm no quite sure what ye mean by your logic on whether you might be gettin a Season Ticket or no. It's nane oe my business BTW, so feel free to tell me to shut m' pus if you want.

of course b&t money dosent gaurantee success but it normally does the biggest spenders usually rise to the top. one season where for a number of reasons we basically signed poor players should not distort the fact that money buys success

If we go down it's mostly going to be Saturday matches, 3pm. I'm travelling 120 miles round to get to home games, and have missed a few in the last number of years due to altered kick offs. If nuRangers come up, as likely, there will be more altered home games for everyone in the top league.
On another note, Scottish football should never have allowed the new Ibrox club into the league as it did, with secret agreements for a club with no accounts or guarantees. The courts are currently addressing a few of these issues, but don't expect honesty from the media in that regard. United answer no queries about the situation, hell mend the game when, not if, it all goes badly wrong. Not sure I want to be involved when this happens.

If we go down, i'm likely to be watching the shitiest United i'll have ever witnessed in my life, but no worries, i'll be 17p a game better off than I currently am this season. (if I buy before 1st of May)
It'll be worth it for the derbies, OF visits and the other big games though, oh, hud on....
If I wait till the early bird prices, It's actualy more expensive than it is this season.
Fuck me.
4m profit though.

Is that right that there's no a Cup Top Up voucher from next Season. FFS. That's a phuck-up if you ask me.

Fair do's Pat. Wasnae questioning your circumstances/reasons. ie. didnae ken you were travelling so far to games. Sorry for being ignorant aboot that.
BTW do in the most part agree with your view of the moral side (or more accurately the immoral side ) of Scottish football ATM.

I obviously don't want it to happen because of the financial uncertainty it would bring and also the minter of Dundee playing in a higher league than us for the first time in 56 years BUT...
If we go down I would love Sevco and Hibs to come up and as Pat says leaving us with probably 100% Saturday 3pm games with no old firm on the horizon.
Apart from the Sunday games after the Europa League group games we'll have on the Thursday that is.

Unless you paid upfront for it, no.

Just managed to get logged on here for the first chance to give my opinion on this. I think its an absolute shocker to a) ask folk to buy season tickets before we even know what league we are b) a measly £20 off for a drop down a league ( even though you play a game less so there goes the £20 saving) c) The club has taken advantage of our supporters loyalty for too long but I finally feel like this a tipping point for the fans to finally stand up and get our voices heard.

For myself there are far more pressing issues than the season ticket matters. Before committing a large lump of cash for a product I want to know what is actually going to be done to improve our lot on the pitch. The Club's grossly inadequate and belated responses to our poor performances on the park, during the last close season and transfer window gives me little hope for optimism for the coming close season, irrespective of what league we end up playing in. I will follow the Club's example of wait and see and dither about what I am going to do.

Im starting to think that some of the dirty dees were right about sections of our support. The first sign of trouble and its hes no getting my money, ehm no going coz... Sevco, Hearts, Hibs BNBS all went down due to far worse mismanagement reasons than UTD but those fans stayed behind the players on the park. Time to stop blubbering and SUPPORT the team.

This is exactly the type of attitude that has led to Thompson being able to shaft the club and the fans for so long.
