Mixu

Watching his reaction at the winner there, the passion, and relief was there for everyone to see. I've given him a hard time but credit where it's due, that was a tremendous result the day. Also credit for staying with a positive formation after Durnan went off.

Well done today big man.

Re: Mixu

I know there's a lot out there who dislike him.....However I'm not that against him.

Common themes are 3/5 at the back, doesn't change things and too much squad changing round.....

The squad thing I can't disagree too much with but if he thinks certain players suit certain teams then, fair play.

3 at the back I won't argue with either - our defence is so limited and confidence fragile, I think he goes with it to keep things tight - in our situation, we can't afford to try to outscore the opposition

Nit changing things, I would agree with somewhat, but I think we are genuinely playing ok - so is there any point of changing things if you are playing ok?

I am growing to like mixu and his choices have been extremely limited in what is the toughest of times.  He's only really been able to pick up players who have no teams. Knowing they won't be match ready, he signed experience.... he's also only had 1 transfer window and he's had no cash to spend in it

He might be reserved but in our position, a clean sheet means a minimum of a point. He also seems to have rallied the troops after a long period where they didn't seem to care.... I think we have had a monumental change in attitude in the team.

Whatever league we land up in, I think mixu could do the business, given the chance to clear out some of the dross

By no means the 'saviour' but I don't see some of the grief he is getting

P's - saw he was being called stubborn yesterday - so was jym - worked out ok for him!!!

Re: Mixu

i like mixu can be a bit frustrating with subbys but definitely got the fight mentality going but its no coincedence this has arrived with paton being back, and also had it been a league game i think we might have changed tactics once the equalizer went in to get a point

Re: Mixu

Made up for his disgusting decisions on Wednesday. Absolutely bang on in the second half yesterday.

Re: Mixu

Different type of game tho.

Cup - it's all or nothing, league it's a long game (not so long now)

I'd not expect him to go all out in the league - possibility of a hammering could be a nightmare for our goal difference

Re: Mixu

When we're positive and attack teams we can and do win games or at least get a point.

When we're negative and try to defend for a point we get beat.

IF Mixu has now Sussed that out we have the slimmest chance of survival.  If he'd Sussed this out 3 months back we wouldn't be bottom now.

Being far too negative with his team selections and tactics has been his problem right from the start.

Re: Mixu

I like the chunt, always have.

With hindsight I don't think he was the right choice but here's hoping he proves most of us wrong by keeping us up and kissing silver.

Re: Mixu

I like him too.  He's got it wrong on lots of occasions (Last 2 night games for sure) but gradually he's made us better.  A lot of problems were inherited and not of his making for sure.  He does need to respond to problems much quicker however.  His passion cannot be doubted and we definitely look a) fitter and b) better organised than under JM.  The fact is our team is not really up to much at the moment and needs rebuilt.  Mixu's doing fine at the moment for me though.

Too much commotion

Re: Mixu

Think he's done a great job turning a tanker that was heading for a waterfall. No instant bounce effect but steady progress.

Re: Mixu

Too many people to jump aboard and praise him last week forgetting the rest of the games under him.

Should never have been given the length of deal he was given. Now stuck we him in div 1.

Re: Mixu

Spot on bowers... Hes fucking shite. Offers nothing. Spent a fortune in wages for all these journeymen and doesn't fucking play them. Saying that, they're all fucking pish.

Reminds me of some of the cars I bought... Great on the forecourt... Pile of shite after a fortnight!

Re: Mixu

I didn't want him as a first choice and think his tactical changes are delayed but that's the case with plenty managers.
I'm bottomed out on faith but I'm aware that the team he's managing are mentally weak and have a history of being all over the place, badly managed by jmac and previously left to do what they feel is best.
Mixu might be better judged when the team is all his signings.
When we play well his tactics have been executed and appreciated and when we loose they are shite.
The truth is somewhere in between.

Re: Mixu

I think almost everyone has said Mixu hasn't worked, we never got that new manager bounce and we're in a much worse position than when he took over, unless he wins the cup then he should be replaced IMO.

I don't think anyone is on a bandwagon.

Yip,spot on.

Loved him as a player.Like him as a man.He seems an honest, hard working and passionate Manager. In short everything we wanted after the 'dull as dishwater' McNamara.

Know what?I think given time Mixu would be a good Utd Manager.Perhaps not a great one like Wee Jim or Craig Levein but a compotent one, nonetheless.

But he has inherited a horrific squad and set of circumstances and imo he has handled the situation badly too.

Poor (panic) signings.Poor formation.Poor subs.

He HAS worked hard on the training ground obviously as our set-piece pla has improved significantly. But other aspects of his management are torpedoing this improvement.

All the 'fist pumping' and passive agressive rhetoric in the World isn't enough Mixu.We need someone who is 2 steps ahead of the opposition mentally.

Motherwell slow as fuck at the back but yet no sign of Murray (our fastest player) over the 90 for instance.Just wee things like that make me think you haven't a scooby tbh.

I hope i am very wrong,however.

Re: Mixu

One other point his 'what's the fucking point in training'? rant after Parkhead might have curried favour with the support but i always felt it was a bad move to torpeodo a young, struggling squad he'd just inherited (but had to rely upon mainly).

I have never felt he has the dressing room massively (bar his signings like Demel,FSP,Ofere) and the players wins recently seem to have came more from a collective spirit to send a GIFUY to Stephen Thompson after his club statement.

Re: Mixu

IMO there is clearly a gulf between ST et al and the playing staff. Most of the players we are relying on will be gone at the end of the season but that gulf must be addressed before any proper rebuilding can take place. Whatever is causing the gulf I can only imagine, but it has been there for at least 15 months and it is coming from the Halls of Tannadice. I cut Mixu some slack with the signings for various reasons, one being that when appointed there was a change in signing and selling policy. Mixu was to be Head Coach and the board would decide on buying and selling players. Maybe some of the players that Mixu 'has' brought in weren't really his first choices, but what the Board decided upon?
