Re: Utd v Hearts - 20/2/16

Weird fucking team, different at least.

Disappointed no Murray, couldn't give a fuck about McKay.

Paton captain is the big surprise for me, I guess Rankin's chat yesterday didn't go down well.

Souttar on the bench for them.

Absolutely.  It was pretty ugly at times and in the second half, I felt we had less men than them.  Glad we were United on Souttar.

But for Alexander's save (one of the best I have ever seen) and another one from Demel and really bad luck for Dowser, we could and should have got away from them earlier.

Felt sorry for Anier, so much frustration, he just tried too hard.

Some goal from Pates though!!!

Less said about Clowncy the better - as usual.

Re: Utd v Hearts - 20/2/16

TBH I'm rather speechless about today's result. If you'd said to me last weekend, that we'd get beaten by the Well, but beat the Hertz, I'd have laughed in your face.

Certainly the better team 1st half. The stats confirm this. Great header in by Demel. 2nd half we weren't so hot, and there were times when it looked like Hertz had an invisible 11th player on the pitch. However Patons 25 yarder which followed a passback from Anier I think, is well worth watching.

The only bad points. Trying to play offside which gave them the equalizer. A number of times Fraser lost the ball trying to imitate Ronaldo. Demel going doon after 54 mins, and Pongo goin doon after 60. Anier being daft and kicking out giving Clueless Clancy an excuse for a 2nd yellow. Though I dinna think he deseved the 1st yellow.

Clueless Clancy the chunt, let everything go the 1st half, but threw the cards like confetti after the 2nd yellow for McGhee. No helped by Hertz men dropping like fleas like they did the last time.

MOTM for me Rankin.

Rather than take my word for anything, you can see extended highlights tonight on BBC Alba.

Re: Utd v Hearts - 20/2/16

We stood up to hearts physically , regular scapegoats Durnan And Gunning in particular. offere did more today than McKay has in the last month, great strike by Captain Paton. One downside Clancy absolutely clueless, McGees sending off was ridiculous. Clancy you're a clown a typical young referee knows the laws but clueless about the game.

Re: Utd v Hearts - 20/2/16

The Spittal offside at the tunnel when he lets the ball go out for a corner.

I'd love an explanation.

As soon as he sent off McGee I predicted we would get more cards than them.

Re: Utd v Hearts - 20/2/16

A couple of good performances the day. Stand outs for me, were Fraser in 1st half. Spittal AGAIN. Paton, and Donaldson.

Much much better delivery's tae. Boot time.

And Ranks hit the post mind tae?  We made hard work of it, but credit where credit is due as with all the bad luck it would have been easy to down tools and give up.  Alba highlights will be good and make the game look even better than it probably was.

Re: Utd v Hearts - 20/2/16

Thoroughly enjoyed that today.  Physical presence of Demel and Ofere was vital against Hearts. We need to play like that first half every game

Re: Utd v Hearts - 20/2/16

Ok so from the highlights -

Fraser, Spittal, Rankin looked good

Ref liked a card, Mcghees and Aniers first bookings both harsh although he did indicate persistent fouling for both tbf.  Aniers 2nd booking stupid and he knew it. Mcghees at 1st look could have been straight red, studs up and high.  A few other soft bookings too.

Some strike from Paton.

Anier bar his touch for goal looked completely lost.

Demel & FSP will never last 90 mins again ever.

Most pleasing thing is it seemed for the 1st time in a while that it was a genuine 3-4-1-2 instead of what's been 5-2-1-2 or on Tues 5-3-2. The 2 wide boys got forward more and good to see CMs getting forward too. It can be an attacking formation and today seemed to be the 1st time we've playe d it that way.

Only seen the highlights tho so could be wrong.

Good 3pts regardless.

Re: Utd v Hearts - 20/2/16

Thought we played very well today.Dare i say it...Thompson's statement of self-preservation inadvertently produced our most solid performance of the season?

We really should have won this 3 or 4-1 tbh.A few raised eyebrows at the team and bench but tbh i'm glad Mixu went for broke ...he had too,and it worked,So after a week where everyone has been on the teams back ;the support, the media, even the Chairman ffs i say well done to the players and Mixu. That was a gutsy win.

Everybody put in a shift today but special mentions too Rankin who worked himself into the ground and showed he's a hardy wee bastard getting up and playing on a minute after being absolutely sparko'd on the turf.

Fraser who constantly ran at them and though it never always came off,he never let his head go down today.

And Most of all Paul Paton.Once the 'hate-figure' of a section of the support,he's slowly winning over hearts'n'minds wth his heart-on-his-sleeve displays which are something we have been sadly lacking. His goal today was fucking outstanding (he only ever scores good 'un's).

Re: Utd v Hearts - 20/2/16

I was really impressed by FSP. Why was he subbied btw? It looked to me like their ch absolutely wiped him out at a corner and he was winded rather than an injury. It could just be he was knackered right enough.

Too much commotion

Re: Utd v Hearts - 20/2/16

I thought we were really good yesterday, first half especially, could have won that by two or three.

I thought Rankin, Fraser and Donaldson were excellent and Durnan and Paton weren't far behind.  Credit where its due the whole team played well for most of the game.
