Seen on mad we are either unveiling Edward Ofere tomorrow or Michael Higdon today.
Depends what rumour you believe but looks like Mixu sees a striker as a priority.
I prefer the high pressing game and use of pace so I'm a bit disappointed with this if true. Enjoyed the killie game and would rather see a winger, cam and CB added instead
I find it increasingly bizarre that our downturn started when we sold a winger and cam and haven't replaced either position despite 2 windows down. It's not rocket surgery

Pretty sure Higdon can't play in Scotland this season with the 2 club rule

The shed I got this from a sight with transfer rules I think he can.
Currently under the FIFA Transfer Regulations a football player is unable to play for more than three teams in one season. This applies whether the player has been transferred or simply is on loan with that club.
This also applies regardless of what country that player has plied his trade in, whether that is in Europe, Africa or South America. As long as a player has represented a club in a league under the adjudication of a FIFA Member Association they will only be able to play for three different clubs.
However, this does mean that a football player is free to represent a total of three different clubs in any league in the world over the course of one season.

See I read the 1st paragraph I think it's ok then when I read the last I'm not so sure 😕

Why would Higdon agree to be released if mid-season if he can't sign and play for anyone else then?

Read somewhere he can play in England but that's it.
I don't know or understand what this rules all about TBH, or if it's 100% that he can't play up here.

According to the Scottish Daily express we are in talks with Eddie Ofere.

Higdon can't play in Scotland this season.
Alan Burrows of Motherwell gave a detailed explanation of why on Twitter the other day.
In England they ignore the rule but will have to change their stance on it from next season.

Its a daft rule if you ask me and a restriction of labour.
Online!
It only seems to apply in Scotland and not in England.
Jennison Myrie Williams played for Utd,St.Johnstone and then Port Vale all in the one season i'm sure.

Ofere is decent but we don't need a fkn striker

We do need a striker but we also need a centre back but can't see us signing one as you could say we already have 5

Can't agree bud. Anything to improve the win rate is good for me. Can you honestly say we have what it takes up front to bag the number of wins we need?

Higdon 73 plus goals in scotland, that can't be sniffed at,

It is, but then you can say the same thing about the transfer window.
I'm surprised it's never been challenged in the same way as Bosman.

The European Comission allowed certain exemptions in terms of EU employment law for football after negotiations with FIFA/UEFA in 2001 due to the "specificity of sport" and in particular the need to protect the integrity and stability of competitions.
Which is not to say that the transfer window couldn't be challenged.
There is a current challenge to the football transfer system within the EU raised by the players union FIFPRO which is currently being considered by the European Comission - this would effectively end the current system of essentially arbitrary fees for transfers and allow players to buy out their contracts at the end of a 'protected period'.
The transfer window has not been challenged though and I guess the fact that it only impacts on players for a limited time period would be a factor.
OT but any club with a develop and sell players business model should start having a long hard think about where that will leave them in five years time.

Ofere signed according to social media.

Not unhappy about getting another body in, and a guy who has scored a few goals in Scotland too. He's also played relatively recently, with his last game being late December, so maybe not as 'match unfit' as some would think.
However, I'd be happier to hear we'd secured at least one ball winning centre half.

Great signing, well done mixu!!

If he's anywhere near fit then he's a good option for us.
Big powerful player who knows where the goal is. Bit of a poacher who always found space in the box if I recall.

Completely different to anything we have, which is the good thing. Looks like Mixus just saying we'll try and score more than we'll concede now.

On the fishul. Signed.
