Why are so many  of our players seemingly injury-prone?

Winning is the best habit to get into. Great stuff.

Next week is absolutely massive.

I said against Killie that he looked a lot more comfortable behind the other two ch's and it showed again today

Any wins a good win.  Hopefully a habit we can maintain, and a clean sheet aswell, can't be bad, maybe we don't need that CH everyone's thought we did?

Disagree, I'm afraid. We are weak as dishwater at the back.

Thistle were poor up front, in my view mind, but their back three were solid looking. Just a wee bit guile brought about our goal

No matter,  we're through.

Re: Utd v Partick -Scottish Cup 5th Round - Sat 6th Feb 2016

Dont think I'll have perspective as everybody else about the game.

Donaldsons run which led to the goal was excellent. One of the best moves of the match. As was Spittals ball to Fraser for the goal.

Thought the 1st half was dire. Passing was poor. In nearly every occasion of the ball coming out from the keeper, we lost possession? Far too much the ball was aloft, rather than on the turf, and we do not command enough in the air. A lot of hoofball was evident today. 2nd half was better esp. the last 20 mins. There were few attempts on goal from either side. Thistle looked a no bad side but the quality of their attempts were poor upfront.

No surprise to anybody that Collum was clueless. His bitching boy on the GF side was as bad. Third minute of the game, Dowser is shoved over beside the wing, but nothing given. Set the tone of the  game.

MOTM for me was Paton. Dowser excellent 1st half, but 2nd half he was struggling. Demel still doesnt look as fit as he could be. Despite my thoughts on the game, the win is an excellent result - 2 wins on the trot.

Wasn't there Pat, and u don't disagree with me on this, more just a question to see how they were at the back today.

Agree with all of that except the linos, Jerry Kerr lino was on another planet probably trying to make Gollum et al look less than grossly incompetent.

Don't think we are finished trying to bring in players.

Re: Utd v Partick -Scottish Cup 5th Round - Sat 6th Feb 2016

Not wholly surprised that we struggled a bit - let's be honest Killie were shite.

Pleased that we kept at it today again though - attitude good throughout.

Am getting more and more impressed with Murray - his touch is improving and fucking excellent work rate - McKay beginning to worry me though....short on confidence and shot-shy.

Demel is another worry as doesn't look capable of doing a full ninety and were not over supplied with defensive midfielders.

Agree with Billy's comments wrt Dow but he gets a pass from me as has been out a long time - again another position we're not well covered for.

On the whole well pleased we're through but still a bit of work to be done - pleased with overall work rate and commitment - night and day compared to earlier in the season though.

Re: Utd v Partick -Scottish Cup 5th Round - Sat 6th Feb 2016

Regarding Demel, I thought he was generally poor today, slower than he's been and not commanding. For about 15 minutes before he was subbied, he was indicating to the bench he wanted off.

Which brings me to the management team. I know Mixu brought on Fraser who scored, but I felt he was too slow to change things today, and while Murray looked fucked for a long time in the second half, it was McKay who went off.

Not to split hairs though, for we won.

I like Murray's attitude and character. The boy is as Dundonion and as raw fae the juniors and Arbroath as you can get.

He tries as hard as I've seen over the decades I've followed Utd.
Hope he continues to improve.
Others gifted with more talent should take on a slice of his attitude.

I don't recall Gunning losing a header all day.  He is brilliant when he does thing simple.

For me, Coll Donaldson was man of the match.  Absolutely superb.
