In the cold light of day:
We are still shite
Defence is a joke
Majority of players still not doing enough
New signings have made next to no impact
Going down quicker than Kate Price
Will this horror ever fucking end, how is it possible to be so shite for so long with no fightback
Trying to keep my son as a Utd fan here Mixu! thankfully he's still 5 as if he was much older I fear what might happen as his wee pals are mostly Celtic fans.
World Famous Dundee United (what at being soft as a babies shite)

Agree with all of the above. We should also have had 2 penalties. The handball was in front of me and was an absolute bricker of a penalty. Would either have made a difference? Probably not, our defence is scarily bad.

i feel your pain mate and wish you all the best with keeping your son a united fan.
just reading the comments on hear over last few months, the lowest point i have seen in my time following united was the hearts 4-0 game when mclean lamped john barnes. utter shite on the park, fans raging off the park, and our greatest ever legend exiting on a low point.
years later, a mate of mine said "at least jim cared". possibly the truest words ever spoken. how many people getting paid a good wage by dundee united the now genuinely care?

See that last bit, that's my biggest gripe. There's very few who do.
Give anything for wee Jim to be able to have an hour with the current lot in the dressing room.

The whole club needs a root and branch clearout from top to bottom, playing and non-playing staff. The boy that lives in Edinburgh (Duncan?) that paid most of the debt off would appear to be our best chance of replacing Thompson and a fresh start.

Two men not focused on their jobs has brought the whole club down on its knees and looking ahead to next season there is no chance of coming straight back up with the obvious summer rebuild.
What a spectacular collapse in record time..........take a bow Sir Stephen

I'll bite. I said that because I was pussy seek of every Utd thread on this board being highjacked by one or both of you two saying the same thing over and over again. The exact same thing has for all intents and purposes killed Utd Mad. Most people myself included agree with most of what you are saying and have done for quite some time and yet you are still banging the same drum. The shit you gave Fookin Twat and Seib was fucking bang out of order a couple of months ago.
The idea of this board was an alternative to the cess pool that is Mad but its quickly being turned into the same thing. Hardly any posts on the off-topic threads, now (you two never post on them, ever), and every thread being the same on the Utd board. Its boring as fuck. We all know the club is fucked and believe it or not, you are not the only two who are hurting. I am fucking gutted about what is going on, on and off the park. My young lad is just turned 8 and hasnt seen us win for over a year. This is his first season ticket.
Whats your end game to this? Maybe you should let the club know your feelings and suggest some sort of strategy for getting us out of this mess?

maybe a few boys in the superfan orgs fancy running ST out and getting their feet under the boardroom table like the funsters from dundee mad did...that worked well...

It didn't work any worse than what's happening at Tannadice just now.
There's nobody I've seen claiming to be a super fan, just fans concerned about the plummet downwards the club has taken and its showing no sign of stopping.
If ST can't or won't fix it then we need to find someone willing to. FWIW I personally wouldn't want fans groups running the show, but I've never seen anyone suggest that should happen.
If the story about having no money past April is true, then I'd suggest we should all be very worried, espescially since it's highly likely Season ticket money will dip dramatically in the summer.

Keep posting what u want to bud, it's a public forum and never seen any problems with what u've said. It's all about opinions that's all.

Hugh Drummond Duncan is, I think, a solicitor, and is essentially just a front man for the (three?) individuals who put money in, providing anonymity.
Am aware for sure who one is and could take a good guess at the other two and I wouldn't expect any chance of any of them taking over.

Agreed, I don't think they will put any more money in either, the reason they did it in the first place is so we didn't have to sell players the first time a bid comes in. (Soutar to Sunderland)

Sorry HH the reason they put money in was to pay off bank debt as part of the deal with the bank - the bank wanted out of football and shot of debts it was unlikely to recover (no coincidence that similar deals were subsequently struck with Killie, Aberdeen and (I think) Partick) and was prepared to take a haircut to achieve this.
The Thompson family was unable or unwilling to find most of the money (though they did put some in) so wealthy fans were sought to take up the bulk of the remaining converted debt.

Correct they put the money in to pay off the bank so they couldn't put pressure on us to sell players when the first bid came along (soutar to sunderland).
