Thought his potential move to Hull deserved it's own thread to gauge opinion on what we should do should a 1 million pound bid be made in the coming days.
Have voted sell
If it's £1m then it's a no brainer
Iirc Hibs last season and the fun the season before both lost circa 500k in the championship and as much as I hope we don't end up there....

I don't believe for a minute that any cunt will bid 1million for him. If they did we'd have to sell.

1 million sterling a we'll even pay the postage.

Decent player at best, nowhere near worth a million. Defo sell.

Depends what we do with the money for me. If used right and £1m then sell.
Think it'll be more like 600k and we'll take it and do nothing with it while making lots of noises about failed attempted signings.

As ive said on another thread if it happens it needs to be full £1m up front. We are getting fucked over we stupid fucking add ons all the time which the total and final figure if all are met is the one thrown about.
He will be away if bid comes in.

Would be absolutely mad not to sell, be lucky if he's even worth half of the quoted price

This. Hull must be mad. He's far too slow and lightweight for the Championship.

he has got 0 assists and scored 5 goals including 2 in a 10 min cameo and 2 of his goals have came against teams 2 divisions lower , 0 assists for a winger is absolutely pathetic if you ask me, hes slow as death with no skills, honestly cannot see what some united fans see in him, i will be surprised if hull make anything near a million for spittal

Keep and re-sign. Boys a good player and comes in for way too much stick.
Offline
Sell unfortunately. With Thompson saying record losses then we need this money.
Offline
Any sort of bid and he's away although I suspect someone is trying to generate interest in him to cover our HUGE losses.

Never worth a million in a million years lol
But if anybody offers that then it's a no brainer and the jets pot gets a boost

Hull City boss Steve Bruce tells us there's nothing in Scottish newspaper reports linking them with Dundee United's Blair Spittall. #hcafc
What a shame

I think Spittal is really underated by our support.
Can play Right Back,Midfield and chips in with goals (always beauties too),and has great technique.
Sure he's inconsistent and there's games that pass him bye but he's only just turned 20 in the past week or so and has for the most part been ever present in a struggling to chronic side remember.
I think he'll have a fine career.I for one hope he is at Tannadice for another couple of years at least.

Totally agree Tek, seems to be one whose every mistake is remembered, and the good stuff ignored.
He's became a regular at a tough time with the lack of quality experience around him which doesn't help.

I've actually seen him play Left Back too (including bizarrely his debut v Hibs in a Pre-Season game) and he done just fine.
I think the problem he has suffered is he was signed as an 'attacking player' and his lack of goals early doors or huge involvement in matches or inability to dominate or dictate them given his age/lack of experience has in some supporters eyes equated to 'he's shite'.
Let's not forget that he was signed from essentially an amateur side in Queens Park and last season was his first full season.
He's now starting to show the potential that i seen right away that day he played at Left Back. He's definitely a player imo.

Best touch at the club, creates things too, folk seem to think hes a winger who's not rapid or doesn't hit the bye line often enough, that's not his game tho. He even got criticised the other week for not getting in the channels and staying too wide, he was playing wing-back at the time, and played the position well.
Like I said some folk just see the bad in him.
Seems to be a trait with people these days that they make decisions early on players and then just point blank refuse to change their mind.

TheShed is talking sense yet again!
Hardest thing for us fans to gauge is potential and how players will improve.
Management was a very strong influence with most of the young lads that ended up big in the game in the old days.
Playing to strengths and discipline was better and if any player got a big head they were brought back to reality.
Jmac has not helped and neither does the money dream.
Blair might do better under Mixu I hope.
See him as a better hope than most but if we got the money for 3 or 4 decent signings and it was spent well you could forgive selling the lad on the back of 2 cracking free kicks that have others attracted.
Could be a huge mistake to sell yet again!
Money in might go 5 ways and signings might be flops.

I'm on a cocktail of various pills at the minute, i'll get back to usual once the doc says I can stop taking them. Hate this talking sense stuff they seem to be causing.

I do that tbh,i'll hold my hands up.
But as long as i see something I'm also fairly lenient too.
For example the aforementioned game at Easter Road where Spittal played LB.He wasn't involved in too much. But defended well enough in an unfamiliar role (and side of the pitch) when he had too and in the 2nd half ran the channel well and tried to get forward i'e' he grew into the role over 90 minutes not fucking weeks/months like some players would claim was necessary.
Sometimes you just know when someone's a player and when they're no.You'll know what i mean.

I still think they do have a big role to play.A Manager with presence/and charisma can make a player feel either 10 foot tall or 10 inches small depending on their mood.
More than anything the player has to want it.
And imo Spittal 'wants it' more than any young player in our squad. And furthermore despite being a quiet, unassuming boy i feel he also has that wee bit of 'fire in the belly' that is necessary (though he disguises it well).
Last seasons Derby that we lost at Dens.About an hour into the match as we're losing,Spittal goes to take a shy,ref decides it's for Dundee instead. Some bam fae Dundee mouths off at him as if tae say 'haha get it up ye' or words to that effect (think it was McGowan) and wee Spittal goes back and shoulder barges him and squares right uptae him absolutely ready tae go.You need that to make it.A bit of fucking anger.
Wee moments like that (in the right context) make me think 'yeah you'll do'.

Not entirely innocent myself tbf.
You're right tho sometimes you just know. 1 thing that is happening in Scotland now tho and not just DUFC, is there's a lot of what I call 5 a side players coming thru, great skill, touch etc but no understanding of how to play the game. Guys like Connolly have this problem.
