Re: January transfers

Yesterday was the tipping point for me, if we had won that then went in to games against Killie, Hamilton and Partick with half a chance.

The financial hit will be massive in the Championship, United need prepare for that now. Sell whoever we can in January (Souttar, Spittal, Telfer, Fraser maybe?) sign no cunt but make sure we're scouting and agreeing deals with out of contract boys that will get us up at the first time of asking.

Hopefully there's something written into the managers contract that states if he takes us down we can pay him off with a token amount.

Re: January transfers

Muirhead who has only scored 2 thus season (a double where folk though he was the saviour)

I'll welcome him back but he can't be relied on.....he's still a young loon

If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all.

Re: January transfers

I wouldn't be holding your breath on us spending our way out of trouble. There is no money seemingly. Its an absolute shambles.

I'd start playing boys like Harry Souttar, Robson, Spark and Coote along with Donadson, Muirhead, Telfer and Spittal. Hearts did this and it toughened them up so they could hit the ground running in the Championship.

Re: January transfers

If, rumours are to be believed, and Stokes and GMS are on their way on loan, I can't see it happening before the middle of the month, as neither would probably be allowed to play in the cup, and they won't play in the game on the 15th.

However, I'd like to think reality has hit Mixu and he can secure a couple of solid defenders from down south on loan, and this week if possible.

Re: January transfers

We've signed a young striker from Spartans, reads like he'll not play for the United first team this season but will be in dev squad and loaned back to Spartans.

I'm not against signing Young guys but coming after another couple of defeats and staring relegation in face it's not exactly the best news I've ever heard

Re: January transfers

Mixu has said publicly for some time that he'll look to sign "one, maybe two" players this month. Hopefully he's talking about permanent deals and we'll get some others on loan too.

When does the window open?  I assumed today but haven't seen anything.

Re: January transfers

One or two players will not make enough of a difference to save us, we need 4 minimum but I concede that will not happen.

Re: January transfers

I am positive about every United signing but signing a striker from Spartans when we are stranded miles at the bottom of the league has just left me cold.

Fuck Thompson
Fuck McNamara
Fuck Mixu
Fuck football.

Roll on June.

While I agree, the reaction isn't surprising.
We filled the last window with 'ones for thefuture' and are subsequently fucked because of it.

Mixu has been promising signings and our first one is one for the future.
While we can't stop functioning as per 'the 5 year plan' this smacks of bad PR.
However I do understand there was competition for this young lad.
Would just have been nicer to hear he was signed alongside 2 proven CB's a proven CAM and pacy winger and possibly a target man as well

Re: January transfers

But if we are being honest, I don't really think mixu would of had a huge influence in us signing the boy more likely bowman who is controlling the development squad, it's obvious he isn't for the first team, there will be first team signings in the coming days/week! Also muirhead has returned which is a added bonus

I will give him a chance but how many players do we have to give a chance to?

Murray & Muirhead are two youngsters we have brought in and hoped they would hit the ground running and score goals, it never happened, and I doubt it will happen this time also.

If we were playing at the top of our game we could possibly bring in youngsters and they might click and score straight away, when you and stuck in a rut like we are that will never happen.

Re: January transfers

To be honest with you, Murray and muirhead are totally different, this boy won't be considered for the first team unlike them two who we maybe expected to much in such a short space of time! stay patient signings will come
