Re: Adeyemo away

Kind of dissapointed. He scored more goals than anyone else in the Development side last year and seemed to look a good prospect.

Good luck to the laddie, hope he gets fixed up with a new club asap.

Re: Adeyemo away

Apparently has the worst attitude of anyone.
This was typified when he went to east fife and comfortably became their 'worst ever player' according to a couple of high cheekers in my work.

No great loss if it frees up some cash for another CB, or pacy winger

He was poor. Saw him in a few development games and didn't see anything in him that resembled a player.

Fair enough.

Not sure what that says for the rest of our young forwards though because as I say, he was our top scorer (by quite some distance too).

Re: Adeyemo away

There is seemingly quite a few of the young lads who have either left or are leaving at January.  The digs is looking pretty empty just now apparently.  Scott Lochead is seemingly leaving as well (going to Hibs) which is something of a surprise.

Too much commotion

Re: Adeyemo away

No too happy to hear that about Lochhead. Saw him in the Dev. Squad a few times, and I'd say sincerely that he is pretty good player. Go as far as to say that I think he's good enough for the 1st team ATM. A phuck-up IMO.

Re: Adeyemo away

When Scott Lochead signed, it was reported that he was here for 2 seasons, from August 2014. That would take him to possibly the end of June 2016, so I'm puzzled as to why he would be leaving just now.

Re: Adeyemo away

As a few have said before we have a big number of development players. We could actually put out two Development teams.

With Jordan Moore, Adeyemo and Lochhead departing it looks like we are calling time on the older members of the development squad who haven't featured for the first team.

I suspect the likes of Scott Smith and Joe McGovern will be next to depart.

Mixu clearing the decks.

P. S. I had heard Lochhead was a decent player too Bill.

Re: Adeyemo away

All the guys who manage to sign professionally have something about them: perhaps they miss out on opportunities due to thinking they've made it when they do sign on. Perhaps they've been badly advised or poorly coached and managed.

Adeyemo isn't the first player who has been released or dismissed by Dundee United and eventually got an opportunity at larger outfit, and Watford are that. Scott McDonald just over ten years ago comes to mind.

Totally agree, just to add that players can all develop at different stages and paces also.  1 of the big concerns I have about youth football going forward is that with the performance schools the focus is on looking for 10/11 year olds  (at the oldest) for clubs now, if ur 13 and not picked up you've very little chance.  Discussed this with a few folk involved in the schools side and basically they just said tough that's how it is now.  I've seen plenty boys over the years who developed later and could/ have went on to good careers.

Anyway back on topic good luck to him.
