post mortem

So today the team will no doubt be going through the weekly post mortem into the matchday shambles.

Have just watched the goals again, Internets no loading up the game on arabzone or would sit and watch it through but have just watched the goals a few times over and over.

Good play for our goal and from listening to the game on saturday we should have been more than 1 up by half time but once again we cant put the ball in the net and its cost in 6 points in the past 2 games!

Hamilton first goal.... Totally bemused with what Gunning has done? Why has he headed the ball that way so close to goal? Does he no realise its the 2nd half and we are now shooting the other way!!! Incredible really is.

hamiltons 2nd goal...Durnan should have made a better effort to stop the boy getting the ball across, Then Dillons header clearance is poor straight to a Hamilton player in the box who passes to another Hamilton shirt in the box shoots straight to Dillon to again make a stop which bounces off his foot straight to a Hamilton player who slots it home.

Very frustrating to see us go 1 up and being in control for the 2nd game running and end up loosing the match.

bowers, when Gunning signed I wrote on here he'd be a threat in both boxes, which has turned out to be too true very early in his new Tannadice career. But he'd lost it for the five minutes before the og, when he almost sliced another og into our net and then went ballistic.

Beside the opposition goal threat that is Gunning, Durnan and Dillon were both dreadful at that goal. Little effort like you say to prevent the cross from Durnan, even worse from Dillon with two powderpuff attempts to clear the ball. If Dillon had left the second one, the goalkeeper was easily stopping it.

These players, if we persist with them, will get us relegated.

Re: post mortem

You should watch the BBC highlights.
We SHOULD have been 5-0 up by half time. 6-0 by the time their equalizer came around and should have (unbelievably) stolen a point at the death.

We somehow lost 2-1.

For me, its not down to a poor performance. Its down to low confidence and also down to some awful decision making. examples being spittals pass to mckay. maybe more mckays run than spittals pass.
The one when we're 3 on 1 and mckay passes to mcgowan instead of squaring to spittal whos got an empty net. The one where the ball gets lofted across from dicker and mckay is steaming in, for some reason mcgowan gets in his way and puts him off. 2 of McKays one on ones, theres no real angle, the option should be to round hte keeper and slot home. That really suprised me, how many one on ones he missed becasue 9 times out of 10 you put your house on him to to net.
So many times, we just pick the wrong pass.

You really cant legislate for the goals but here we are again where individual errors are costing us. I think a more experienced keeper would help massively.
