Robbie Muirhead

Scored 2 for Partick today who scored 5 away from home.

Said before this was Jackie's final 'fuck you' to the club sending him away to a relegation rival.

And if Mixu intimated he doesn't want him back in January I hope he has a re-think.Offers us something different upfront.Even if it's from the bench.

Re: Robbie Muirhead

Should never have been let go, mental decision, still we've got Bodul, Murray and Taggart.

When I met the GM a month ago I did query why last season we strengthened effectively our closest rivals with Brian Graham; and we were effectively doing it again this season with Robbie Muirhead.  I was assured that lessons had already been learned in that respect.  Here's hoping it does not cost us then!

Re: Robbie Muirhead

I am absolutely fucking furious he's no at tannadice! How on earth they thought this was a good idea is actually criminal, he was our best player for the last 7/8 games of last season and was scoring goals! If you don't laugh you'll cry

Agree. I thought he said he wanted him back. Think he said he was still raw though and wasn't necessarily the answer but wanted him in the squad.

I wasn't there B&T, but my view on RM would be exactly that.  He should give us something we don't currently have and let's face it, he's all bought and paid for already is he not???  Seems to have some of the attributes a young player would need, but MAYBE a questionable attitude, focus and work commitment?  I'd have thought that Mixu sees some of himself in RM, namely position and size.  If RM has half of brain and wants a proper futba career, he'd be well advised to come back, knuckle down and do all Mixu asks of him and some.  If he does, a bigger move will happen within 18 months.

Re: Robbie Muirhead

It was always a stupid idea to loan him to Thistle; fair enough put him out on loan but not to a bloody rival.

Re: Robbie Muirhead

Well Mixu certainly saying Muirhead will be back in January and had thought about recalling him.

Glad to hear it.

Should never have been sent there in the first place.

Re: Robbie Muirhead

It wasn't that bad an idea to be honest.

At the time, thistle were not our rivals and with lads like bodul and murray etc coming in, he wasn't going to get game time.... However agree that now it doesn't look great.

Remember 1 goal doesn't make a season - he's not 0 played too much for thistle and certainly hasn't banged them in!

Re: Robbie Muirhead

i said at the time of the loan deal that i didnt think it was a good move.
He clearly has talent and ok sending boys out on loan to other clubs is a good thing and it may or may not work in favour for the player and the parent club...However i do not agree with us sending them out on loan to clubs in the same league as us.

He scored two on Saturday mate.

I thought Muirhead was our best player the last half a dozen games of last season.

If he came back overweight he should have been simply dropped, not sent away for 5 months and denying ourselves of a very handy player who had proven he had something to offer (unlike Bodul and Murray at the time).

Re: Robbie Muirhead

2 goals in  game great but it's 2 games all season - hardly world beating stuff. As I mentioned before, he's been in and out of the thistle team for whatever reason...i don't know if it's because he's not good enough or because hes got some sort of issue there.

I also rated him last season but in a 'best of a bad bunch' kinda way - he had good moments and he had bad ones too.

I think he's got something but we can't think he is the answer alone.

Not sure if it came across in my last message but I think we were theoretically covered well up front. So given the choice of having a striker sitting on the bench doing nothing or a striker out on loan, getting valuable game time at a good level, I know what I'd prefer.

Also don't think anybody in tge club could imagine how wrong this season was going to go and we should not be battling thistle - but we are, so I agree the right thing is to take him back

Re: Robbie Muirhead

He had an injury also whilst being at partick i believe..

Your last bit.... Plenty predicted this downfall several months ago Tangy. People continued to turn a blind eye to it at the club and in the support but it was known this was to happen.

Every team in the SP are our rivals. Brian Graham got 15 points single-handedly for County last Season. OK this Season, he's only got them 3 points a few weeks back, but look where they're sitting. Agree Muirhead hasna done this for Thistle, so here's hoping he doesna score anymore for them.
