Seeing that the courts have now declared that the use of EBTs was a tax dodge do you think that the Scottish football authorities should take the titles from Deadco?
Offline
They should never have been allowed to keep the titles in the first place.
This whole pretence facilitated by the SFA that they're the same club with 54 titles and have 125 years or whatever of unbroken history is utterly utterly shameful.
They can't have their cake and eat it. If they are indeed the same club then pay the EBT money you owe.
That simple.

The whole old Rangers/New Rangers issue annoys me more than any of the shit that has happened at Tannadice on the boardroom and playing side over the last few years. I alluded to writing to the club about the matters brought up by hunted, and did so again at the weekend.
Here's a link to a document which outlines the extent of the Ibrox cheating:
Our club is complicit here, they've taken part and continue to take part in the conning of Scottish football supporters. I can only imagine fear is the driving factor, nothing else (hopefully).
What I don't get is how supporters' groups, in our case the likes of the Fed and ArabTrust, haven't made more comment on this charade, which has cost supporters millions of pounds to watch. Personally, I've spent thousands on football over the EBT period, viewing a sport more akin in sporting terms to the wrestling. .
It has also cost clubs a considerable sum, both in prize money and in attempts to keep up a semblance of competition with the Ibrox club, when apparently, it wasn't a sporting competition at all.
And before anyone rubbishes the linked document, it is simply an illustration, and I'd argue it isn't comprehensive, for after Charlie Green produced a new club playing in Govan, they shouldn't have had immediate access to the leagues, thus allowing a financially doped new club prevent fair competition in the lower leagues, denying other sides success and promotions.
As an aside, few folk seem to know Charles Green provided tax advice and financial to people at the SFA and then spl more than ten years before he was given access to the Scottish leagues with his new club. Green became chairman of Kingsbridge Holdings PLC in 2000, and his company counted Scotland manager Craig Brown, then SFA president Jack McGinn and various other individuals in the controlling bodies as clients.
Put an asterix beside the name 'Rangers' with a footnote stating 'cheated' in the years they cheated other teams out of trophies. No other side should be awarded the trophy. And the authorities have to announce that the new club is that: a new club.

I agree with Pat
Good post

Billy Dodds has put his tuppence in. He says he would have signed for Rangers anyway.
Good for you Billy. What about the De Boers? What about CL winner Stefan Klos? Torre Andre Flo? The list is fucking endless.
Sevco's current manager is playing the 'it's nothing to do with me' card whilst on the other hand saying that it's a proud club with a great history. Whole thing stinks. When they are up I doubt I'll go to games v them.
Decent article

Of course, they can 'keep being' Rangers if they wish, and in doing do, keep their titles, but then surely they would be due £46M in unpaid debt to the tax man.

The game is damaged up here. It needs to cleanse itself. That would mean stripping titles. They gained an unfair advantage during that period. Everything they won should be taken off them.
I don't want the LC from 2008. The records should state it's null and void.

Bullish bassas today:
"This Clubs history............is beyond debate"
Then you've got that journalistic knob Richard Wilson spouting his misleading pish on Scottish national radio backed up by an ex Rangers player and Manager (Hunted's least favourite ginger mullet).
All of which begs the question, "is there any point in Scottish Futba and sports journalism?"

Meant to say - hats off Pat - succinctly put!
What gets me is saying EBTs were loans, yet there was no need nor danger they were ever getting paid back???!!! WTF is that all about?
Online!
would that be the same Billy Dodds who voted against dundee's CVA?
Dodging the tax man was against his principals (at least on that occasion)

I fully backed that decision.

The very same.

Darren O'Dea on Reporting Scotland saying they should be stripped of all trophies won in that period.
Brave and a bit stupid to come oot we that in the media. A few death threats coming his way I'd imagine.
Offline
O'Dea now playing in India so he must think he's quite safe there.
Anyone any idea of which Titles / Cups Sevco would be stripped of.

See spreadsheet from Pat - Post 3.

Judging by the reaction today the statement has backfired big time, which is pleasing.
Also, for those who haven't seen it, Alex Thomson has summed things up rather nicely on his blog today...

Nice find Scarpia. Great summary and the final punchline is particularly poignant.

I'm getting right juiced into the Sevco stuff again. Totally got immersed in it when they died.

Of course they should be stripped of titles, they won't be.
Of course they should have to pay the money back, they won't.
Following league rules they should never have been up for being voted back in, they were.
If any of us had any sense we'd give up on Scottish football full stop.
Couldn't care less about it now TBH, whatever happens or whatever they're called they'll always be Rangers in some form and always claim and have it reported to have won all those titles fairly on the park, without any care that football rules aren't just about what happens on the park.
The only thing that would change anything is every fan of every other club staying away until justice is done and that will never happen. Actually not even convinced that it'd make any difference.
Edit to add the most important point
Billy Dodds can go and fuck himself.

90% in favour. Pretty damning
If the Authorities don't do anything I'll not attend a game v Sevco again. Regardless of home/away league/cup or final

I'm seriously considering taking the same stance against Celtic, but on the basis of I really can't stomach any more humpings from them. Our record against them is an utter embarrassment.
Apologies for going off track.

I have considered that as well tbh. Missed the last 2 home games v them. One was due to a wedding though.

Surprised a couple of folk voted 'no'. Wonder why?
