Would take gunning in a absolute heart beat! Let's be honest he was a bit of a nutter but he on his day he is class, as for Cher Evans he deserves a second chance, there's been boys how have killed inasant adults and children and got there's, controversial maybe just my thoughts

Gunning, not a fan in the slightest but needs must. Yes.
Evans, pie in sky but deserves a chance and is about to win his appeal IMO. Either way would love this to be true. For player and united.

was gunning actually a free agent when the window closed? can't play till jan if not. is he even fit?
Ched Evans is scum and can get to fuck. I'd rather go down

Likely a load of bollocks but 100% deserves a chance to play again. Especially if/when he wins his appeal. So wrong as a society to deny him the right to work again IMO.

he can work where he likes, as long as I'm not paying any part of his wages

Can totally understand both sides of the argument here. I'm 50/50 on it simply because I'm of the impression that everyone deserves a 2nd chance.
It's an interesting point re Goodie getting God like status fae oor fans when he was going thru similar, something that I never understood or agreed with.
As Silver says above, while I strongly disagree with those that would have him I understand their argument.
However, regardless of the rights and wrongs of the situation, signing him would drag the club into a media shitestorm that we really, really don't need.
I suspect there's nothing to this rumour but if there is there are plenty of other players our there - some of whom will be available in January and might even be match fit.
Wrt Gunning - not any better than McGowan imo and what we really need at ch right now is a Callum Morris type player who isn't injury prone.

Gunning yes, if he can keep himself fit and out the bookies.
Evans? Nae danger, a total scumbag.

Is spending some time in the bookies detrimental to fitness?
Double standards, methinks! "Total scumbag" is what many people called Goodwillie, but virtually all our support defended him! And don't forget, Evans may win his appeal.....

Are we really comparing Evans to Goodie??
Frightening.

Goodwillie's case never even made court due to a lack of evidence.
Evans is a convicted rapist.
Does he deserve to work again? Yes, of course.
But not as a high profile player and certainly not at my club.
You lose certain rights of your liberty when you commit a crime of that heinous nature.

Both of them accused of sexual offences.

Gunning is miles better than Durnan. He is also left footed which could allow us to play a back 3 with McGowan Souttar Gunning with Spittal and Dixon as wingbacks. Or potentially replace Souttar with Morris when fit.
Ched Evans. Hmm. If he wins his appeal yes, if not no. He's got the right to work and earn a living but the shitstorm may not be worth it at Utd.

One of them is a Scottish Cup winning Hero who signed a new contract with us to earn the Club millions.
The other is Ched Evans.
Goodie has never been convicted of Rape, EVER.

Because of lack of evidence.....

I wouldn't want either of them to play for United.

Yeah, like prison. So if/when this gets quashed then what?
Fwiw based on the divided opinion on this and the fact we need total unity as a support. I suppose I'd have to be a no. He's also said he'll wait for outcome of appeal.
Saying that, categorically wrong imo that he shouldnt be allowed to work in football again.

Wasn't really bring serious about the bookies, he can spend all his life in there if he likes, as long as he gives 100% on the pitch that's all that matters.
Don't see how anybody can compare Evans to what happened with Goodie, but maybe that's just me.
United have confirmed Gunning is training with us and likely to be handed a contract to end of season if he can prove his fitness.
They are "bemused" by the Evans rumour and have no interest in him
All according to the Tully.

Gunning is better than Durnan, so I'll take him. He's a year or 2 older, so hope to fk he's grown up.
