Re: aberdeen 7th November

Not looking forward to going now.  More so than the first match of last season (as I clutch at straws!).  I am looking forward to going out in town afterwards though!

I have no idea what team to put out all I ask is that a left footer plays left back and the same effort put in against Ross County is replicated at Pittodrie!

High priority has to be stopping Hayes supplying Rooney.

Re: aberdeen 7th November

Do we try and suffocate the game and play 5 in midfield and just 1 forward OR do we have a right go and try and exploit Aberdeen's dodgy backline by playing 442 or even 433?

I would like the team to be...

......................Szromnik...............
Spittal.....McGowan...Durnan...Dillon
.............Souttar........Rankin............
........................Fraser.......................
.............Telfer............Murray..........
.......................McKay......................

Subs -
Zwick
Donaldson
Taggart
Bodul
Khul
Coote
Robson

Re: aberdeen 7th November

I'm not going if Dillon's at left back.

Re: aberdeen 7th November

I'm just not going, full stop.

Cannae see any change in form when it's the same players on the park.

I actually thought against Hibs he was one of the better performers.

Only him,Fraser,Szromnik and Rankin got anywhere near even 5/10.

Re: aberdeen 7th November

I would agree with you there TEK, also McKay tried as hard as possible but as usual got zero quality service

Sitting this one out

Re: aberdeen 7th November

Dillon gets far to much in warranted stick, gives his all everyweek unlike some!

He might give his all but sometimes that's not good enough unfortunately.

Re: aberdeen 7th November

Can understand that he might no be his best everyweek but some of the shouts him and Chris erskine are cringeworthy sometimes

Re: aberdeen 7th November

Is dixon fit? He's trained all week, maybe time to get him back in?
Souttar dropped.
Murray did more in 15 mins than taggart has done in 2 games. Enough of this rankin left mid pish aswell.

Re: aberdeen 7th November

SuperMario, you are correct about the cringeworthy shouts, but a lot of them are down to spur of the moment frustration. I'll agree that some folk go to the games prepared to slag particular players, however.

Surely threads about particular players on message boards are at least every bit as bad. Not wanting to get into an argument, but you started a thread yesterday in this manner.

I'm not going tomorrow, as I can't see anything changing, and not just on the park. It pisses me off to hear the players, some of whom are not performing and are unlikely to ever be good enough at this level, getting constant moans and slagging from the crowd.

Re: aberdeen 7th November

Must say I would be very tempted to play Dixon tomorrow even if not 100% fit I think they are defo there for the taking! My team would be

Szromnik
Dillo McGowan durnan Dixon
Souttar rankin Fraser ( central three)
Murray McKay taggart (all in interchanging confusing the Aberdeen back line) mom the shed!

I've changed my mind I'll be there, mon mixu

I'm Dillo's biggest fan, and don't think he's too happy there either, but needs must and all that.

Trained all week after weeks out following surgery?

Understand your desperation, and would've had Jamie Robson on at half time last week with Dillo going to his best position.

Re: aberdeen 7th November

Too soon for Dixon imo and wouldn't want to risk Robson or Spark in this game - having said that we need width from somewhere and pushing up a full back is one way so....

                                    Szormnik

Spittal         McGowan         Durnan      Dillon

           Souttar         Rankin      Fraser

                                 McKay

                    Murray              Taggart

Becomes a back three when Spittal pushes forward and Fraser to push up on the left now and again - Murray and Taggart to give their back four nae peace and hopefully get behind them - might just give McKay space to do something.

Re: aberdeen 7th November

Murray's definitely worth a run out. He looked lively as usual when he came on at Easter Rd. What the hell we got to lose by playing him??
