Yeah, I've got mixed feelings about it too.  Its a bit like a Seahorses track musically with Ian Brown singing on it.  However, it is actually quite catchy.  Its just not THEM though.  Mani and Reni are just pushed right into the background as well which is a pity although the type of song that it is (catchy summer throwaway pop song) doesn't lend itself to heavy drums and bass.  Hopefully the rest of the album isn't like that though.

What pissed me off a lot more than the track itself, was the fact you can only get it off of I-Tunes.  If you use Android stuff like I do you are stuffed.  I refuse to buy any Apple products because you become a slave to them and I also refuse to pay for a music subscription service like Spotify (I'll buy music when I want, how I want).  Its not on Google Play or Amazon Music, or the Sony Music store or Windows Store either which is piss poor.  I eventually discovered you can download an MP3 of it off of the Stone Roses website today, which was not publicised at all.

Should have saved the 99p and bought something good. Thon track is a bigger letdown than their last 'comeback'. Ian Brown should have done a Ritchie Manic in early 1990 so we could remember them for thon first album only

I actually like the 2nd album. It was never going to be as good as the 1St but, imo, it's still good. However that new track is just pish.

Agreed. Love Spreads, Ten Storey Love Song, How Do You Sleep and Breaking into Heaven are all absolute crackers.  The rest is variable but nothing on there is particularly bad and certainly not as bad as All for One.

I've always loved 'Your Star Will Shine'.

It's the only sentimental track The Roses ever done.

Re: The Stone Roses

New 7 minute track called Beautiful Thing on its way?  Stick The Stone Roses and Beautiful Thing into the relevant fields here

Re: The Stone Roses

Beautiful Thing out today seemingly. I'll venture it'll be out at 8 o' clock again.  Hopefully its better than 'All For One' (albeit its quite catchy).

Re: The Stone Roses

Sounds pretty good on first couple of listens.  Can hear Reni and Mani!

Re: The Stone Roses

Much more like it.  It sounds quite similar to Music of the Spheres era Ian Brown but given that this is his best album it's not a bad thing.

Re: The Stone Roses

It has that sun-kissed, blissed out Roses vibe to it.

Re: The Stone Roses

Oof, that's what I'm talking about. First was like Seahorses, second-like Ian Brown solo, third? Maybe some mani influence Scream stuff? Can't wait.

It's not where you're from it's where you're at.
