Re: Eiji Kawashima

It's taking a ridiculous amount of time.

Apparently the Japan Manager is helping Utd out in some capacity to try and push it through quicker.

Re: Eiji Kawashima

Nothing to do with the situation but you should see his missus. Whoof. Half Japanese half Colombian.

Re: Eiji Kawashima

Just had a look at some websites who reckon uk work permit should happen in 3-4 weeks - this is fast approaching week 4.

What's going on! Could be doing with a safe pair of hands in there as our current options don't fill me with confidence.

Re: Eiji Kawashima

Could be due to him being non EU citizen. As I said on Mad, 4 weeks isn't out of the ordinary. Is his missus joining him-could be red tape to get through there too. I've given up all thoughts of ever going home due to the ridiculous laws in place now for non EU citizens. Hopefully it'll get done and dusted soon. There's been no mention of Kawashima taking the huff about the situation here anyway.

Re: Eiji Kawashima

Fingers crossed - from what I've read, he's a real class act - so the sooner we get him in place the better!

Re: Eiji Kawashima

Hopefully this is true
"Hearing the delay was down to him being without a club for so long. Got flagged up & additional forms/questionnaires had to be filled out. Normally professional sports applications are fasttracked.

Heard from one of the ICT goalies we've been granted the permit now & all paper work has been signed & returned to the home office. That was on Sunday I got told that so if it's true we'll find out this week!!"

Ken.  Every time I see someone has posted on this threed, I think, "that's the paperwork through - yay!"

If he is what he appears to be, he will make the biggest difference to us of any player, as if we can only stop conceding we'll be fine.

I think I should put in for a job in the Home Office.  Job sounds like a scoosh.  Money for nothing.

Re: Eiji Kawashima

We're in dire straits without him.

He'll not be in goal this Saturday either, as he's away back to Japan. But he's confident of getting a work permit 'soon', according to his official blog.
