Class of '92 - Out of their League

Anybody been watching this?

The Man Utd class of '92 (Neville's,Giggs,Scholes,Butt) have bought Salford FC and it's a 'fly on the wall' documentary about their aim to turn the club into a pro-team.

Compulsive viewing mate - absolutely brilliant seeing their views instead of the usual bland, cliched and sanitised pish answers you get.  Can't wait til next week......

Quote of the prog from Scholes after Gary Neville suggested he (they) play in the FA Cup....

PS - "No"

GN - "Why not?"

PS - "I'm fat as fuck!"

Re: Class of '92 - Out of their League

I watched it too. Enjoyed it but I thought it was a bit off that they changed the teams colours from their traditional orange, to red. Thats just ego and right away makes it look like Man Utd 3 (Man Utd and FC Utd already there).

The manager (Power?) was fucking hopeless. Never worked on shape, my old boy was laughing at that.

Their houses are something else.

Giggsy's wife's obviously forgiven him for his 'indiscretions'.

Re: Class of '92 - Out of their League

Agree with you both re the colours.  The blogger nailed them with the Vincent Tan thing as I'm sure Neville in particular would have sided with Cardiff fans in their quest to be Bluebirds again.  Can any of our elder statesmen here advise what happened when we changed colours?

Aye LAO, yon was caveman management and training that eh - amazing as Slateford says wi the male model getting himself yon wages.  Imagine how good some players could/would be wi mair practice and less time in the tattoo parlour?  Some of the goals were first class I thought.

When the Kray twins came into manage I did not think they were any better.  Neither them nor Power subscribed to the JM Social Work School of futba management though!

Re: Class of '92 - Out of their League

Changing their colours pissed me aff tae I must confess. Particularly as they changed it to basically a Man Utd strip. You'd think that's the last team they'd want to be compared to under the circumstances Eh?

At the beginning of the episode I thought what they were doing was quite noble, putting their money where their mouth is and putting it into something that will benefit the local community.

But by the end of the episode it did feel like they were treating the club a bit like their new shiny toy.

Even things like Gary Neville saying he wanted to keep that old concrete beam and by the end I noticed they'd built a wee railing in front of it too lean on and him and Scholes etc we're standing there.... what if somebody who'd supported the club for years wanted to stand at that would they be allowed to? Doubt it.

Good viewing right enough.

Had nae sympathy for thon Manager either btw. Encountered a few guys like that down the years who just want to shout and yell at players and have zero management or coaching skills.

Another good episode (wish it was longer than 2 episodes).

Incredible story about that lad getting a deal at Man Utd who couldn't get in Salford's team because he wasn't 'physical enough'.

Hollywood stuff.

Justin Johnson-esque.

They two boys won't last in charge.  Arseholes.  Just rumbling folk up for the sake of it.  That boy Seddon is a pap and totally full of himself (I wonder if one or two Utd players are a bit like that).  Some finisher though. the one that dropped over his shoulder was an absolute peach.  His wife looked a bit of a ride as well.

Think that game will give a lot of players the kick into reality they need and no just Utd players , part timers ripping a team prob on 50 times a week more than them, hope they don't end up like thon team who pumped Dundee at hampden lol
