I haven't been able to read an Irvine Welsh book since Maribou Stork Nightmares.
Too much

I was about halfway through Skagboys but tbh I lost interest. Over-long and not really going anywhere. A shame because it starts really well.

That is a brutal read.
The coma/dream sequences and all the Jimmy Sandison/Airdrie v Dunfermline stuff is fucking trippy, but very clever.

It's horrible. Not read one of his books since. Watched Filth though and thought it was utter shite.
Only other book that made me as unfortable as that book was American Psycho by Brett Easton Ellis.

Started reading Alan McGhee's book about Creation Records.
Only about 30 pages in so far but it's a riveting read.

Finally started reading 'Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head' by the late Ian Redford last night (got it for Christmas).
Only about 30 pages in and already had a lump in my throat twice. Think this is gonna be an emotional read.
Doesn't seem your normal footballer. Quite a complex and thoughtful and ultimately troubled man, tragically

Gave Skagboys a second chance during the summer and was pleasantly surprised at how it turned out. Some proper laugh out loud stuff. The Rehab Diaries are good too (think the bit in Trainspotting when Renton says, "Maybe I should go back the clinic?". Got through it in a few weeks on holiday.
Currently reading, "Dunkirk": The History Behind the Motion Picture. "

Got this yesterday, anyone who has read a bit of the 1001 albums thread will be familiar with this name, the often quoted Al Kooper, he seemed to know everybody and have loads of tales to tell about the music scene back in the day.
Have only read about 30 pages so far, but really enjoying it, lots of gossip and trivia.

Never give up by Joyce Meyer
The woman is a typical American bible bashing zealot but I like her attitude towards diversity.
It would be a good read for some posters on here

Just finished Irvine Welsh's latest offering 'Dead Men's Trousers'.
Enjoyed it, as per.
Some really funny bits in it.
Just starting Andy McLaren's autobiography from 2007 now 'Tormented'.
Very hard read so far and the opening chapter actually upset me a bit.
